ruined songs?

Bad Moon Rising

Creedence Clearwater Revival

I see the bad moon arising.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightning.
I see bad times today.

[Chorus:]
Don't go around tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life,
There's a bathroom on the right.

I hear hurricanes ablowing.
I know the end is coming soon.
I fear rivers over flowing.
I hear the voice of rage and ruin.

[Chorus]

All right!

Hope you got your things together.
Hope you are quite prepared to die.
Looks like we're in for nasty weather.
One eye is taken for an eye.

[Chorus]

I remember in 8th grade, my class took a trip to the beach... well, someone there had a radio, with "Jet Airliner" playing... my friends and I wer esinging "Bingo Jed left the light on." It somehow morphed into, "Bingo Jed left the particle accelerator on, the electric bill blew me away."

My favs are:

CCR's "There's a bathroom on the right"

and thanks to my mother

Aerosmith's "Do just like a lady! "

here is a favorite misheard lyric, the real way goes:

I bought a novel, some perfume
A fortune all for you
But it’s not my conscience
That hates to be untrue
I asked of my reflection
Tell me what is there to do

but i never hear the word novel....sounds more like knobber to me...you know, like a blow job? that's what i always thought he was talking about...i am so base.

my knuckleheaded friends sang, and always very loudly, "hold me closer, tony danza"....

That was on a Friends episode, Joey thought that was what the real words were.

I have a few. Mostly because of this guy I knew who liked to change the words of the songs on purpose. Sung to the tune of "Yesterday" by the Beatles:

Leprosy.
All my skin is falling off of me.
I'm not half the man I used to be.

Syphillis.
It just started with a simple kiss.
Now it hurts just to take a piss.

Then there was "Strangers in the niiiiiiight... exchanging rubbers.... this one is too tiiiiiiight.... may I have another?" :retard:

blinded by the light? i think that's the title....if i'm wrong i'm sure i'll be corrected :D

Yep, made that Springsteen guy a couple of bucks.

Who else would have written:
"Madman drummers bummers and Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder feelin' kinda older I tripped the merry-go-round
With this very unpleasing sneezing and wheezing the calliope crashed to the ground"

You're probably thinking of Mannfred Mann's version. What he really sings is "revved up like a deuce." Springsteen" original says "cut loose like a deuce." Everyone know more about it than the wanted to now? :D

My mom asked me once why Crosby, Stills and Nash never really said anything about sweet Judy and her blue eyes in the song.

I used to adore "The Beat Goes One", "(I can get no) Satisfaction" and "I love rock 'n' roll" until I heard Britney Spears sing them
