Saddam's Sons Likely Killed in Firefight, U.S. Officials Say

True enough, but running a country is hard. Having people executed is really quite simple.

I think the bodies of these psychos should be displayed publicly in Baghdad to prove to the citizens that they are not coming back. And to show that the US military are more than just sitting ducks. Maybe their heads on sticks...hell, if the tables were turned you know they'd do it to us...

be fair luis, the middle ages gave us many wonderous things to be admired. beer as staple liquid of the masses for example [water purity too low] :D

So you can take pride in being on their level of judgement and humanity. Then how will you expect the world to tell a difference between them and you?

reminds me of the Middle Age.

You mean Iraq under the Hussein rule? More like the Stone Age.

Heads on sticks would be probably be acceptable to the Iraqis; the implications would be something they could relate to. I wouldn't doubt it if they thought the U.S. was weak because we haven't done something like that already.

They don't already. So there'd be no change...

Even the Slickster puts his stamp of approval on the events. He can't stay out of the limelight for a minute.

KING: While I have you both here, let me get in just a couple of quick questions about the day's events, starting with President Clinton. What did you make of the killing today of Saddam Hussein's two sons?

CLINTON: Well, I think it's good news for, you know, trying to get the situation under better control there and I'm really happy. I'm happy that, you know, that the military did their job, as they always did, and, do, and, you know, those guys were pretty foolish not to give up, I think, but that's not the first stupid mistake they've made. And I hope that it will give the Iraqi people some sense of reassurance, and I hope it will reduce the number of attacks on our men and women over there who are still working trying to pacify the situation. I think it's got to be on balance, quite good news for us. We should be pulling for America on this. We should be pulling for the people of Iraq.

I think, you know, that, you know, Clinton said, you know, that "you know" thing too many, you know, times. I remember people being, you know, made fun of because, you know, they said "you know" too much when their, you know, brain draws, you know, a blank.

When a politician says "you know" they're lying. Of course they're also lying when they don't say it.

...absolutely, we've seen that when Bush says "you know" he's lying and when he doesn't he's lying.

Interesting.

Luis is closest to the final truth.

While the world is a better place now that they've become worm food & I, for one, will not shed a tear, mush less grieve, isn't it interesting that so many people have said "I'm glad..." or some variant of that. We are now cheering the death of other humans. The Iraqis were celebrating in teh streets last night. The more things change, the more they stay the same, eh Claudius?

I saw the bodies of "Uday" and "Qusay" on the news this morning. One of them was definitely not one of Saddams offspring
