Even if there was a law requiring back ground checks, in an industry that has a high turn over rate there would be a minimum effort made in the area...
Another good point. High turnover pretty much removes the incentive for doing a background check or drug check on new hires, since it's at the employer's expense.
Yea and from what I have heard construction has a substantial turn over, I can see in some areas the contractor would be looking for warm bodies, anything to finish the job...
