"No other first ladies have consistently travelled with a makeup artist," Bernard Portelli, Hillary Clinton's former hairdresser, told the New York Post .

Yeah it is inkaar1, because Sara Palin wore thousands of dollars of clothing, a ridiculous amount at the public's expense, those who funded the campaign and she was only a candidate, asking for a vote. Not the WIFE of a duly elected candidate, who has broken no law.

Why does she feel the need to hide her real face?

She needs to spend taxpayer's money on someone to wield a putty knife and apply Spackle? She hasn't had enough practice all these years to do it herself?

Racist 0bama Makeup Pallet!!

:)p How much did Palin spend on clothes for the campaign again?)

Pathetic, as per your usual, perhaps it's even getting worse and worse....

And didn't those Palin clothes get donated to charity?

What charity could be talked into taking this monstrosity?

ain't no worse than your velvet elvis or bust of john denver.

anyway, anybody that makes a big deal about sarah's threads or michelle's cosmetological flumdrumblings is an idiot.

there are far more substantive things to base critiques of either on. this is just stupid.

Gee. You've come a long way since "Sarah Slugtrail."

But still it all comes down to who is paying for her artiste. Probably the same ones who paid for the pizza guy.

haha yeah i'd forgotten about "sarah slugtrail." pretty fitting for a brainless breeding vessel, eh?

hey scro, it's cool, i think i'm going to see if i can convince my cleaning lady to run for office. she ain't so smart, but she wears tight pants!!! yeah!!!

:lol2:

Aware of the sensitivity about public spending during the recession - and of previous criticism of expensive political haircuts - the first couple paid for the expenses of having a make-up artist in their entourage out of their own pocket, according to a spokeswoman for Mrs Obama.

Learn to read past the headlines, and it'll be much better for everyone, eh.

She saves money on clothes and doesn't use tax-dollars for her makeup.... what's the issue again? :cocktail:

I must point out as well, in the world today, even more so than in 2000, and certainly than before that, the first lady is in the spotlight constantly being photographed.

And if you want to play the race card and the lunatic idiot card, no previous first lady has been black, and I can't remember any first lady drawing the attention she does, not to mention I've not seen this kind of panic and desperation out of the right as this presidency has caused.

From the Post article "It took Laura Bush four years to finally look good. It's taken Michelle Obama two months."

From the Telegraph:

....a 49-year-old make-up artist she met in Chicago six years ago.

6 years?

You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Sure, those Ru Paul lashes are very attractive.

and now the conversation is reduced to "she ugly!!!"

nice. way to represent the fairer sex. er, gender. er, whatever.

Jackie Kennedy?

Jackie Kennedy?

....did not face everyone and his jackass brother having access to digital cameras and instant global communication. I don't think the word "paparazzi" was a household word back then either. Also, again, Kennedy was the first Catholic president, but that's not even close to the same as the first black president. Times have changed, and they've changed a lot. Your comparison is pretty ludicrous, and probably wasn't worth my response, but there you have it....
