So I gave in..... RPG Games...

I heartily recommend Dark Age of Camelot (DAOC). I have NWN and much prefer DAOC. I haven't played Morrowind so I can't speak to it. DAOC is of the online variety so constantly get to interact with other live folks, although given the right character choices you do not have to group with others to succeed.

It's extremely addictive, so much so that it measures each character's play time in 24 hour days.

Agreed that the live people thing can go both ways. I enjoy it but I can definitely see why some wouldn't.

The only MMORPG I've tried was Shadowbane, which WAS fun, right up until I got PK'd by some 6th rank wanker. That PK business sucks. Needless to say, I haven't been back.

Well...Lookie here. I was playing Icewind Dale...for the second time...and ran into a real poser. That damned drawbridge in the Dragon Eye cave. I forgot how to get it down...anyone remember?

You know....I wish I could help but not only have I lost my Icewind Dale disks, I never actually got that far into it

MMORPG wise I'm currently playing SW:G and loving it immensely. I also have EVE on download at the moment and I'm gonna be reactivating my account there :)

It never ceases to amaze me. They make you pay for the game, and then make you pay to play it. That's too funny.

I wouldn't know. I refuse to do that. It's me vs the computer, or me, on the LAN, vs somebody close by. And to think that idea started with 'Evercrack'...

Sorry man, I'm addicted to RPG's too but at the moment, the only one I have is Morrowind.

There's a ton of sites online with walkthroughs and cheats though. I'm sure you could find one. Just keep your pop up stopper on. :D

Not on the gummint computer. I found one walk-through, but it's based on the UK version...I can't sneak around to the US sites. This filter is really starting to piss me off...:grumpy:

I'm sure one of us could download it to a text file and email you. If you don't get one before I get home from work, I'll find it for you.

Are there different versions? Any more specifics besides Icewind Dale? You're playing on PC, right?

From what I can tell, the UK version is definitely different. As far as specifics, it's Icewind Dale I...the first one...and I wouldn't be caught dead with my fingers on one of those 'godless commie' mac keyboards. :D

Ultima was 'teh shiz' way before evercrack was an itch in its daddys pants.

Someones gotta pay for server maintainance fees, developement costs, bughunting, game master staff, marketing etc....besides with conversion rates in place, I need to work.....ooo.....two hours a week to fund both my Star Wars accounts :D

So Gato whats different about our version....am I missing out?

Then pick up the Shadows of Urentide and Hordes of Underdark expansions and disappear for another extreme amount of time...

It was still $4/hour for what was effectivly an ascii chat-room.

$4@2400bps. Remember is was $10@14,400. but that was simple internet access at the time, remember? Compuserve was no cheaper.
