Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
Friday, July 24, 2009

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 30% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-eight percent (38%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -8 (see trends).

Just 25% believe that the economic stimulus package has helped the economy.

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates also available on Twitter.

Overall, 49% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Today marks the first time his overall approval rating has ever fallen below 50% among Likely Voters nationwide. Fifty-one percent (51%) disapprove.

Eighty-three percent (83%) of Democrats continue to approve of the President’s performance while 80% of Republicans disapprove. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 37% offer a positive assessment. The President earns approval from 51% of women and 47% of men.

WASHINGTON – That was fast.

The hope and optimism that washed over the country in the opening months of Barack Obama's presidency are giving way to harsh realities.

An Associated Press-GfK Poll shows that a majority of Americans are back to thinking that the country is headed in the wrong direction after a fleeting period in which more thought it was on the right track.

Obama still has a solid 55 percent approval rating — better than Bill Clinton and about even with George W. Bush six months into their presidencies — but there are growing doubts about whether he can succeed at some of the biggest items on his to-do list. And there is a growing sense that he is trying to tackle too much too soon.

The number of people who think Obama can improve the economy is down a sobering 19 percentage points from the euphoric days just before his inauguration. Ditto for expectations about creating jobs. Also down significantly: the share of people who think he can reduce the deficit, remove troops from Iraq and improve respect for the U.S. around the world, all slipping 15 points.

On overhauling health care, a signature issue for Obama, hopes for success are down a lesser 6 points.

COOL TURNS COLD: OBAMA 'BELOW 50%

The American people finally saw the real 0bama the other night: a bigoted angry man who hates cops and white people and rich people and doctors and bankers and who can ramble for an hour at a press conference without providing an answer to a single pre-screened question and who literally knows nothing about anything.

So let's keep a daily track on Obama's approval rating

Can we not do GW II.

He is doing a good job or he is not. The only factor in that is time. Day to day (or weekly or monthly) tracking proves people are fickle & nothing more.

Okay, let me start.

He is not doing a good job.

Holy cow!! Double digits?! How's that hopey-changey thing workin' out for ya? Not so much, ya say? The honeymoon is over. And so soon.

I see it's even enough to make a certain 0bot puke. :rofl3:

Hope and change has turned to fear and trepidation.

You can post as many puke pics as you want but nothing will change that.

Why is it the leftists are still talking race. It is 2009, get over it.

You are so freaking full of shit. It has nothing to do with race, it's just a reference to the beliefs of many freak ass conservatives that belong to militias as both of you well know.

:banghead:

Being as 'peel is a theologian, scientist, engineer, economist, and expert on almost all subjects, I'd bet a stack of cash that he belongs to some splinter group militia, though I am quite sure he'd never admit it. In fact if only he stopped wasting his superior intellect on Walmart he could fix this country in under a week!

JIMPEEL for President 2012!!!!

:worship:

Actually the link clearly shows them going up and down. Not freefall as Cerise suggested.

What did Bush's all time record disapproval suggest to you?
