The day the Earth nearly stood still

What bugs me is that the government (last administration) tried a bailout which failed miserably. Now the new guys come along and do the same effing thing and expect it to work because they're what?

Different people?
Newly elected?
Their hearts are pure?

It would be comical if it wasn't costing me so much money.

Socialists believe that socialism has not worked because the right people have never been in place. This administration apparently believes that they are those people.

By the way. One of the many definitions of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, each time expecting a different result.

They are the right people for socialism. Too bad it'll still fail. Wanna buy a '49 Packard? Still runs. See Cuba.

This should really help the market confidence.

One quarter percent tax on all trades.

The guy's argument against this is quite good. The little guy buying into Wall Street is not Wall Street. It is not a tax on Wall Street it is a tax on all investors. Buy now, and your trade is already worth a quarter point more than it will be after this passes.

I can make a '49 Packard purr like a kitten. Reckon that's a barter-able skill?

sure, if you can do an NG conversion, add a gearbox, and some tractor tires. :D

NG conversion is easy. Do you expect it not to leak? :retard:

I believe I'd have to refuse to turn a Packard into a tractor unless things got really tight. Some things are just plain wrong. Surely we can fine a '50s or '60s Chevy or Ford for that.

depends on what kinda shape it's in to start with.:swing:

It's still a Packard. With the straight eights, when they were in good tune, the loudest thing on the motor was the sound of the points breaking. Yet another example of quality not meaning dick, just in case you thought that was a new thing. :D

A 216 Chevy six would be a much more capable tractor motor.

If things keep going as they are, probably. Imagine the future, limited or no computer availablity (the greenies get thier way) & your '07 Tahoe breaks down. S.O.L.

I don't understand why people aren't investing in the market. Sure, it is very risky and you might lose all your money, but if you get any capital gains, Obama has promised to ass rape you, and I'm told he is a very nice looking fella.

It would be pretty ridiculous to blame Wall Streets current problems on a proposed 5% increase on the capital gains tax. I suppose some people will believe anything though.

No. It will merely cause still more problems.
