If you look around a vB.org at some of the most installed hacks, you can see kind of a trend.
That usually affects what features vB adds to later releases somewhat.
Some of the things I hope to see in the future releases as basic stuff is...
1.) user defined smilies, and in the quickreply box.
2.) Standard shoutbox option. (probably never happen)
3.) multiquote option
4.) quick edit option
5.) more admin options (stuff not visible to reg members, so it may not apply to this thread)
6.) quickreply in PM section.
7.) more user customization options
8.) more standard template options
9.) better graphics (that is probably a given)
10.) better system for handling attachment graphics stuff. (for easier d/l and backup options)

just to name a few.
