This Flag thing, Again

It's alright, I wasn't trying to come off as rude. I live in Maryland, which was a border state. People around here, especially skirting Baltimore City, like me, have pretty strong views. This is a carry over from the war. Just like in the deep south, how some segregation does exist.

Anyway, I want to say it takes living in the south to understand, but techinically I don't live in the south. When I first got into the Civil War I felt I could relate more to the Confederacy, therefore I am a 'bigger fan' you could say, than that of the Union.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with the flag if you're not weairng white robes while waving it. Just like it was stated before, 'Heritage, not Hate'. It's a historic thing, just like the Nazis and WWII, and what's going on with Iraq (I don't want to start that though, just an example). People always remember the bad, and not the good. Unfortunately that's the way it is, but you can't please everyone. No matter what you do, someone will be offended by it. Might as well do what you want and piss people off along the way.

depends on what part. the parts Ive been to do not harbour those feelings whatsoever.

I don't know nothing about this flag business.....but the way you dress/decorate your belongings certainly can have undesired effects on the people around you.

Once, after a disastrous attempt at bleaching my hair, I was forced to shave me head (killed the hair, woulda fallen out slowly anyway)...my usual attire is jeans/combat trousers and army boots.....at a party I had to borrow a friends coat to go to the local shop, he wore a military style pilots jacket.

Those clothes and haircut are the typical "uniform" of Nazi "skinhead" fuckwits that are a sub-society in the UK. A lifestyle I have a particular dislike for....and have certainly never subscribed to.

Walking into the shop which was ran by two indian/pakistani (not sure of their ethnic origin) people......it shocked me that the actually seemed to cower in fear as I walked up to the counter  I was only their to buy booze and smokes.....but I'm guessing the they had had trouble from local skinhead fuckwits

To suddenly find myself "labelled" as a Nazi-racist-wotever......was very uncomfortable :eh:

So wear/display what you like.......but remember, a lotta folks will judge you on it :)

Indeed. I wasn't trying to incinuate that all parts were like that. But thanks for bringing that up, because it did appear that's what I meant.

That sucks! But I agree with you. As long as you can accept the consequences, do what you like. But you don't deserve to have your stuff destroyed for it.
