thou shall not kill

Very interesting, guys. My take is slightly different.

I'm for capital punishment .... for habitual criminals.

No grey area. No "maybe he's innocent". No mental defect. Habitual criminals. People who think the law doesn't apply to them. Three times caught dealing drugs, you're gone. Three times stealing, bye bye. Raping while on drugs in a stolen car, ... you get the picture.

This will empty the prisons, and will motivate convicts to really, really change. And it'll put an end to the revolving door prison system.

You must ask is it justice or revenge for their act?

No, you musn't. You must ask "What is the best way to protect the rest of us from this violent predator?" Stop reacting from feeling, start thinking logically.

What if you or someone you loved was accused and standing trial would you feel so steadfast in your judgment?

If I or my loved one killed somebody, with malice and forthought, then yes.

Hmm... interesting. The only caveat I can think of is if the offender has some skill that might be useful to society and useable by someone with no rights and no freedoms.

The Iraqi Solution

The U.S.-led administration that ran Iraq after the fall of Saddam abolished capital punishment. Iraqi authorities reinstated the death penalty after the formal end of the occupation in June 2004

Slave labour?
Perhaps it would a be a good tie-in for a nice new gameshow. Death row inmates and career criminals facing off in a ring of combat. Combat is to the death. The winner advances to the next round. 5 rounds in a tourney. 32 criminals become 16, then 8, then 4, then 2, the winner goes free.

pay per view.
