Usama & saddam are scared now

fine I'll leave the genocide out.

But aside from a few twisted individuals (serial killers, etc.) people who commit these crimes do not think of themselves as evil, they think of themselves as freedom fighters. It does not excuse them from ther actions, or make me think they are "ok" guys.

Just saying evil is not a black and white concept in most cases, but depends on how you veiw the situation.

Another good point. The problem is exactly that, point of view. And the refusal to accept that someone else might have a different one.

With that we must seperate this lovely tone of gracious acceptance that has amassed recently.

I don't think it's that some don't accept differing views. In fact, I believe, most people actually relish them. There is a huge gulf between thinking/discussing/debating (whether) your God is better than his God & actually killing him for his beliefs. There has to be a line drawn in the sand for civilization to have a firm footing. That is what most of these arguments are at their core. Where to draw the line. That argument will ensue until the end of time. As it should. We must question authority. We must be willing to look past ourselves & see the larger picture. We must remove emotions from decisions that require thought, patience & action. (calling Mr Spock. Mr Spock to the RW please) If the line is drawn too far left we have lunacy run amock. If it is drawn too far right, we loose personal rights.

Either way, the line must be drawn & it must have certain unmovable sections. Without those, a nation (people) of laws can move willy nilly until the line is so confabulated that it no longer has meaning. That is my fear, moving so far left that life has no meaning, nothing worth fighting for, nothing worth standing for & worse, nothing worth dying for.

:hmm:

How about we reword that to read "If the line is drawn too far left we have freedom run amock. If it is drawn too far right, we have facism."

Horsehit!

Evil is intentionally targeting innocent civilians. Evil is genocide. Evil is imprisoning children. If you don't find these, and others, evil, then you fall under one of two categories: evil or stupid..

if you asked them if they call themselves evil theyd say no and we are evil. I think they are doing evil acts but in and of themselves they dont see themselves as evil. they see us as evil. so are we evil? to themyes. to us no. are they evil? to us yes. to them no.
