wardriving is when you equipt your vhicle with a laptop, wireless card, antenna, and gps. You drive around and pickup wireless networks and with the gps you can map them out. It picks up open networks and encrypted networks.

I should have a new digital camera here soon, and I'll be taking pics of my equipment and setup. I split the GPS to use two laptops with orinoco gold and silver cards. One laptop uses a 36" yagi and the other uses a pringles can. Each are pointed out the sides of the car.

Can't wait for it to warm up again, wardriving neighborhoods in the winter (ice) is too dangerous for me. I'm getting ready to build another 36" for some point-to-point testing. :wink2:

My friend owns a WISP south of here and he's been telling me about his goodies...pretty sweet stuff. :cool:

What's the appeal over say...driving around picking up girls?
