What book are you reading right now?

My paternal grandparents were from Mexico...my father spoke spanish (and several other languages) fluently...I took two years of high school spanish & the only thing that stuck was No Habla Espanol.

i took it in high school and have used it sparingly since. it will come in handy here, especially at work.

I just finished "The Stand In" the night before last. It's a cheezy chick book (NOT romance), but I can't read anything too emotionaly heavy right now. Next I am going to start an odd novel called "Some of the Parts". It's about 4 people who are all really screwed up in thier own ways who cross each others path in thier lifetimes. We'll see how it goes.

When Will Jesus Bring The Pork Chops? - George Carlin

Sick Puppy - Carl Hiaasen

Stormscaping: Landscaping to Minimize Wind Damage in Florida - Pamela Crawford

Someone bought me "The Soddit".

Just finished reading "The Guns of Naverone" and "Force Ten from Naverone".
Didn't I get you that abot 2 years ago? (The Soddit) - I'm trying to recall.

Currently reading - The Difference Engine (William Gibson and Bruce Sterling) - interesting premise...imagine that the first 'computers' were invented in 1855, during the industrial revolution *fully 100 years ahead of its time*

Reading "The Jagged Orbit" by John Brunner (actually re-reading). Late 60's New Wave post-industrial dystopia. Brunner is always clever with the language and the background, but sometimes the characters tend to be a bit archetypal and inscrutable. Still, a good read.

I am reading an instructional book about silk ribbon embroidery. So far, I haven't been able to try much out because my stupid needle broke, again.

I'm currently reading Death of a Salesman/The Hostage/The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn/Hamlet.

God, I hate plays..
