Just an editorial cartoon aboot the looting in Baghdad...

Yes, but its a common misconception by people calling the tower a hard drive, don't even bother arguing this one :p

the really annoying part of all this is the people that actually laughs at the apparent iraqui ignorance on the subject, when most of them don't have any idea what a hard drive is or what does it do.

My wife does that still.

"Are you going to have to open the hard drive to put more memory in?"

I sure as fuck hope not!

Grrrrrr....

I guess I'm a Case Winger.:headbang:

lol @ PT :D

Or when you ask them how much memory they have now, they say 8 gigabytes.

Yep. I just love users. My Sister In Law is the worst of the family. She bought an Emachine about 3 years ago. Celeron @ 400, 4 gig hard drive, 32 mb Ram. Well, when I replaced my wifes motherboard, I also went with DDR instead of SDRam, so I had a 128mb stick of Sd just sitting here. I told my sister-in-law this, and that I would put it in their computer for nothing. So I did, they weren't home, so I just went over, did it, made sure it booted and left. I get a call that evening.

"I thought you said you put more memory in this thing?"

"I did."

"My Computer doesn't say it has any more memory"

At this point I was a little stunned, thinking she actually right clicked on my computer and it was saying 32mb there still, but then, that would be giving her way too much credit.

"What do you mean, My Computer?"

"You know, where you look at your floppies and stuff."

"Oh, well, that would show your HARD DRIVE space, not memory"

"Huh?"

One of these days I'm going to quit working for family.

:disgust2:

I think I expect more from my family because I know they aren't idiots. Unfortunately, all they generally know about computers is how to use the apps they use every day and my phone number. I try not to discuss hardware with them at all. I finally installed a virtual desktop on Mom's machine because it's an hour drive to go down there and show her (again!!!!!!) how to defrag, or clear her internet cache or......
I love my family, I just want to kill them occasionally. :D

I wish my extended family wasn't on dialup. Otherwise I'd do the same (IA is a long drive from here ;) )

i did years ago :D only time when i do something on family pc's is when it's benefiting myself, lol

or selling stupid idiots your 'old' hardware for the original price after 6 months, lol :D that wasn't very nice, but i put the pc together for free...

Richer than your wildest dreams...as richas I'd be if I got a nickle every time I worked on a family computer...
