*Drooling something major here.

Damn, how the hell did they hide the smell of that operation?

When I heard about it I wondered that too...but where it's located there's nothing around it it's in an industrial type area, there's a massive park behind and around it, and it faces onto an 8 lane highway...so...I guess that's how? :confbang:

Did the price of smoke up there drop considering that the local supply must have been plentiful? Thats probably what tipped off the mounties. They probably saw the street price for the region drop $10 per 100 grams or something over a short period of time and started looking about for the subtle clues ... subtle clues like a 4 square block area that positively reeked of high quality sticky bud.

I dunno what the price of leaves in Canada is/was...I think I remember reading that it was an actual tipoff/rat that did them in.

Indeed. Its impossible to keep such a large operation quiet for too long. Any one of the dozens of people in on it could have sold out the whole thing for a reduction of jail time on some other thing he was nabbed for.

Innisfil Marijuana Bust
Three people have been arrested and a fourth is being sought in connection with a major marijuana grow operation bust south of Barrie. South Simcoe Police raided a farm home on Simcoe Rd 89 east of Hwy 400 in Innisfil late Tuesday. They found what's descibed as a sophisticated indoor marijuana production facility. Plants were being grown on three different levels of an out-building. Authorities say the marijuana had a street value of one million dollars.

Update:

[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Nearly a year after a massive marijuana growing operation in a Barrie, Ont. brewery was uncovered police haven’t been able to nab the masterminds behind the illegal outfit. The two-year scheme produced thousands of plants and made millions of dollars but reportedly, only a few people will see any jail time.

On Friday seven men were handed their sentences ranging from five years in prison to two years of house arrest, they pleaded guilty to production and possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. But reportedly, police believe these men were only minor players in the massive setup that earned around $120 million. Until officials uncover new evidence, the men sentenced Friday will be the only ones to spend time behind bars after the pot plant bust. Reportedly, authorities know who the key players are but don't have the proof needed to back it up in court.

Police uncovered the outfit in the former Molson brewery - it was the largest grow-op in Canadian history. Authorities found a sophisticated setup that included living quarters for nearly 30 workers with a kitchen, a place to do their laundry and entertainment rooms. More than 20 enormous vats, previously used to brew suds, had been converted into hothouses rigged with complex irrigation and lighting systems for approximately 20,000 plants. And it was also a highly clandestine undertaking; it reportedly took police nearly an hour to find the grow-op once they were inside the building.

Its kinda cold there as well... as in HOLYFUCKITSCOLD ...for about 4 months a year.

funny you should mention that. I lost a can of gingerale and a bottle of orange juice last night in my trunk (sealed box) tot he cold. It didn't seem anywhere near cold enough to burst them to me.

The ginger ale being carbonated probably had that extra oomph to pop since it was under pressure. The OJ may have just been in a wimpy bottle.

What was the temp for you last night? -7? -8? ... That would surely creep through any insulation box given enough time.

I've had bottles 'explode' in my freezer at home before. Couldn't be much colder than Prof's trunk...
