:D All-in all, you're not doing too bad...Not a lot you can do when they're between 12 and 14....It goes in one ear and gets retold as parental abuse to everyone they speak with...:retard: Then they start calming down...well...sorta....I just kept telling myself it will all be over in 20 or 30 years....Still waiting....

When I was in junior high and up to my junior year in high school, I thought I had the worse parents ever in the history of all parents. I would complain, whine, and mope about them to whoever would listen. my Senior year I realized what they were doing was "parenting"....go figure. I appreciate my parents now

i must be lucky. my parents were always liberal and let me be myself adn loved me for who i was and i always thought they were somewhat cool.

If all my kids were like my 15 year old daughter, Well, I'd be in heaven. She is the most responsible 15 year old I know, and one of my best friends. I know, you're not supposed to be friends with your kids, well, fuck you, I kinda like em. (That Fuck you was not directed at you, Mare, just those that tell me not be friends with my kids.)

As for the rest of them, I'll either have a straightjacket or grey hair within the next five years, I'm sure of it.

my mom was always one of my best friends PT. it shows you care about her. its also a good way of parenting as long as she knows your there for her and she can rely on you then you are a fantastic father.

I struggle with that concept daily, Freako. First of all, I don't care what my kids do, I love them. But I'll be damned if I'm gonna sit by and let them do something that will destroy thier lives. I'm very strict about curfews, I'm very strict about the clothes they are allowed to wear. If they want to wear black, that's fine. If they want to wear black t-shirts that say Fuck the System on them, or clothes that show more than they hide, that's not. Being liberal with your kids is a tough call, and I don't mean to say you had bad parents, but the fact you aren't in jail tells me they weren't as liberal as you might think they were.
