Just redo the poll as a matter of grid coordinates. Get a simple globe map and photoshop some separation lines and slap some numbers on each grid and redo the poll as 1,2,3,4,5..

I asked my Dad, who is from Guyana, formerly know as British Guiana, and he said he and everyone he knows considers it to be in South America, and not some weird boy from Canada's interpretation of South America being Latin America as well, makes no sense to me as i know nothing of it really, so don't flame me

He never said they were the same thing. What he's trying to put is "US and Canada" and "Other Americas(outside US/Canada)". He will never express this separation by any criteria other than stating it clearly...
