Why emulate Europe...

Not according to the liberals. It's only in the US south, except when it's elsewhere in the US.

Where'd "the liberals" say that? The liberals I know recognize that racism still exists everywhere. While conservatives are largely in denial about it.

Any time someone of any hue beyond pink is called to account for their actions, the libs seem to think it's racist.

Racism exists...and even in homogenous populations, anything can be used to discriminate against one person or another...be it race, gender, religion, age, weight, height etc ad nauseum.

You say discrimination likes it's a bad word. It comes as much from observation/personal interaction as it does from -isms.

Why yes, it is. When a problem appears from those generalizations, then you look at the individual picture.

Instead of addressing an individual problem, we justy keep 'em bulked together?

Racism doesn't involve the individual, per se. It involves a 'membership' in a certain group and how that group is viewed. (All blacks are... all muslims are... All chinese are...) much like the other isms.

When you get down to one-to-one contact/interraction...most racist ideals vanish like the fog.

The isms are walls between you* getting to know the individual for who they really are instead of who they are assumed to be.

*generalized use of the term "you' - I'm not saying that you (Gonz) are racist.

Now, what if, personal traits aside, they do tend (by a huge majority) to fit the category? It doesn't need to be an ~ism to see what is right before ones eyes.
