I sure hope Hans is more fluent in his native tongue than he is in english.

-"I think they would be able if the weapons were there -- and I'm not saying they are. And I'm not saying that they have means of delivery -- but they could have it. ... But I doubt that they would have the will to do it."

What a mess!

Maybe I'm just used to dealing with multiple languages, but it's clear enough to me. In a cover-your-ass lawyer speak sort of phrasing.

"they could, if they have the weapons. I haven't seen any weapons, but that doesn't mean they're not there. But I don't think they want to do it."

The problem with the whole "Knocking out Scuds" idea is that Saddam won't be using Scuds to deliver teh WMD's....it's artilery rounds that have been emptied out to deliver chemical/bacterial agents. You can't knock one of those out of the skies with Patriots. Sure...Saddam has to get a lot closer to use them...but once in range...artilery is a "one shot many kill scenario."

Will Saddam use them? Hmmm...that's the billion$ question boys and girls.

I think he'll use them..but on whom...certainly not Israel (they're nuclear)...American Troops....great way to piss off the USA...nah.

Kurds? Sure...he's done it before, but now no-one'll be looking.

The French? :)

Rumor mill sayd, like Desert Storm, there's been a warning...use them & have a tactical nuke shoved up your ass.
