Are you generally Rep or Dem? Neither, I'm british.
How do you feel about religion? There's too much of it... too many excuses for conflict.
How about the ten commandments? Common sense rules intended to prevent conflict between neighbours - pretty similar rules in most religions I've found.
Do you think guns should be taken away from the American Public? Handguns - yes.
How do you feel about abortion? It serves a purpose but is too often abused.
Do you think the world should unite under a global government? Like the UN?
Do you think drugs should be legal? Most of them are...
Do you think homosexual men should be allowed to teach children and go on camping trips with them.(I.E. Boy Scouts?) Homosexual does not = paedophile.
Do you think it is okay for aborted fetuses to be used for experiments and treatment for diseases? The juries still out...
I'm an army brat... I grew up in London, Germany, Gibraltar, Kent, Surrey and Essex both in villages, small towns, larger towns and cities. I now live in a smallish market town within easy reach of London - not that I go there very often. The countryside is a 5 minute walk from my door. My mother made all our clothes - I'll never forget the embarassment of the knitted swimsuit that stretched when wet or the 1960s mini dresses! My dad hunted rabbits and pigeons with the local farmer's shotgun, sharing his catch with him as payment for use of the gun, and I made mud pies in the vegetable plot between watering it and helping my mum.
And I got called a nazi by the brits because I'm half german... and a tommy pig-dog by the germans because I'm half english... my conclusion - most kids are a pain in the bum. I also got made a fuss of most adults especially foriegners - conclusion - most foriegners are OK. As a child I also shared a double bed with my sister, often woke with ice on the insides of the windows (coal fires downstairs) and was unable to use the bathroom during the winter cos the drains were iced up (tin bath in front of the fire) - we also had an outside loo! I can't remember a time when I wasn't expected to help with the chores including looking after my youngest brother after school while my mum worked, cooking the family dinner (I always burnt the sausages) and cleaning the house.
Just a normal 1960s - 70s childhood really. Did I enjoy it? Yes... we roamed for miles without restriction and were generally a lot freer than kids today... I've fallen out of trees, off roofs, cliffs and bicycles, and into rivers (when I couldn't swim) and I'm still in one piece.
I've lived in some rum old places since then and with some very interesting people, but now live in a 2 bed apartment with double-glazing and gas central heating. I have enough of money to pay my bills and my favorite chair is 20 years old and extremely comfortable, so until it falls to pieces I really don't see any point in getting another one. I wear comfortable clothes (not designer) and eat tv dinners cos I can't be bothered to cook for just me during the week. My favorite pastimes, besides messing about with computers and robots, is visiting interesting places and going for walks in the country... and I hate gardening!
