Your thoughts on porn...

My thinking on this is a bit jumbled... here are a few thoughts that occur to me.

* I like looking at porn.

* I absolutely can't tolerate violence in porn-- don't want to see it.

* I wouldn't want anyone related to me to be involved in the porn industry, but I'm not aware of any negative feelings towards people who are.

* There's porn, and then there's "erotica," which I guess is just porn done in a tasteful and artisitic fashion.

* I like erotica better, but I still look at things that qualify as porn.

* I like porn that makes sex look like fun rather than stuff that makes it look degrading or shameful.

Does that help? What are your thoughts?

I agree with you completely.

Because I'm afraid it would degrade them... coarsen them... make them lose their respect for themselves... make them cease to value sex as a spiritual experience, and turn it into a job, and perhaps a not very pleasant job.

I've never met anyone in the business, though, so I don't have a model for how a person might be able to do it without that happening. I'm not sure how it might be approached so that it would be a positive, life-affirming career.

And how could a person do that kind of work and be involved in a romantic relationship? It's certainly not something I could accept in a girlfriend or spouse. I can just see me saying, "bye, sweetheart! Have a nice day at work," as she goes off to film a threesome with a couple of guys. Or having her come home and say, "do you mind if we don't have a date tonight? I had it really rough at work today." Or "my boss was riding my ass all day today." Or "Whew! I feel like I've been ridden hard and put up wet... oh, yeah! I was! Tee-hee!"

Nope... not gonna happen. :p

Do you think someone can do that kind of work without it having a negative effect on them? What about if they're in a relationship? Can that work?

Love is blind, my friend ... and it puts meat on the table.

If left at the dabbling sidebar level, it doesnt register as a problem in my eyes because the act of love, nudity, and togetherness havent been reduced to occupational cynicism like full time stripping and whatnot does.

I find it thoroghly repulsive...yet..somehow....intriguing.......:confuse3:

....and......addictive......

*stands up*

"My name is Squiggy,,,,and I'm a pornoholic..."

I've been trying to get Brandi to start stripping. Strippers can make some excellent money (as in, more in a week than I make in three months delivering pizzas). She always said she's too big for that, but I've always said there's a market for strippers her size, too.

Why do women say things like that? It's like they're daring you to agree with them. I think the average female has a much higher standard of feminine beauty than the average male. And it's not just a matter of being down on themselves, because they'll cut each other up pretty bad too.

My thoughts on porrn:
"<censored><censored><censored><censored><censored>
<censored><censored><censored><censored><censored>
<censored><censored><censored><censored><censored>
<censored><censored><censored><censored><censored>"
:)

Brandi actually is a fairly big girl. I'm not sitting here calling my wife fat, but it would be ignorant to call her skinny, too.

to me no as long as they are willing to do it i dont think it makes them a bad person jsut someone who wants to do that. same with the person reading it as long as they can respect and appreciate women i say go ahead. hell if i have a gf or wife who wants to watch it we can watch it toghter but shed have to want to. and shed have to be comfortable with me looking at it if not dont do it. my only other problem with it is that i had heard interviews with former porn stars who say it was them being raped. which should NEVER happen to anyone

But you still find her attractive, right? You said before that you told her there's a market for strippers her size too, and I don't doubt that you're right.

So I guess what I'm saying isn't that women are delusional when they point out some feature of their build that they don't like-- it's not that the feature isn't there, it's just their assessment of it that's so out of tune with how the average guy would view them.

She sounds normal to me. If we were meant to be stick insects we wouldn't have tits or bums. It's all the fashion designers who think we should look flat chested with no hips. Real women aren't like that, but advertisers try to indoctrinate us from an earlier and earlier age and then we wonder why our kids get anorexia and bulimia? Ban them I say!

As for porn, if it's between consenting adults and kept away from impressionable children that's fine with me.
