Far to verbose. It would be much more effective to jsut get right in his face, hold for a second, and quietly say "Bite me". Then drive your forehead into the bridge of his nose.

You have my personal guarentee that he'll get the message, and never forget it.

No, I don't actually call people that, I more of refer to them. The operation manager is a bitch ass cocksucking retard motherfucker, as I tell my coworkers. To her face, I'm real nice, because she is my boss.

I use profanity to vent anger.

Not me. My boss is fully aware of my opinion of him. If he doesn't like it, he's fully entitled to put some effort into changing it.

I use a few. I have been known to use the word faggot. I have been known to use the word nigger, as well as white nigger or wigger. It is less about race and more about willingness to make something of yourself. In a similar vein, I have been known to use the term spic for those unwilling to to help themselves.

Like most others here, I am selective in my use of those and hundreds of other words in my vocabulary. But if it fits, use it I will.

I also use the word redneck, which is a backhanded compliment in its initial connotation but has come to stand for quite another meaning. I find it offensive in one context, rude in another, and acceptable in yet another.

The use of the word hillbilly boils my blood. I have little use and less respect for the users of the word, primarily because I know the genesis of the term.

Carry on, the final phase of my reasoning will follow.

I hear many derogatory terms fairly often, but use them rarely.

Hasidic jews - cockroaches
Indians (non-native) - pull-starts or push-starts (depending on whether they are the type with the turbans or with the red dot.
People from New Foundland - Newfies *Although not around Nixy ;)
Stupid women - blondes or blonde wanna-be's
Kids - rugrats, ankle-biters, monkeys, droolers, fuckin' teenagers!!, teeny-boppers, punks, roat-rats

Being around kids, you learn to watch your tongue. They're going to pick up enough shit from friends and in school without me adding to it.

Yeah, but as an employee, I'm pretty much disposable. I'm around because I actually have a faint clue of what I'm doing, and because counting training, it's cheaper to keep me around than hire new blood. Getting in someone's face would change that real quick.

See, there's the difference. He works there because that's the type of employee he gets. In a real job, he'd get turfed as fast as you think you'll get turfed. My boss understands that I don't have to like him to do my job. He doesn't have to like me. So long as the job is done, we both get paid. If the job is well done, we both get raises. He doesn't worry about making me happy. He worries about making sure that I'm happy doing my job.

She is an exceedingly idiotic manager.

It seems like there's budget problems, so she cuts down on staffing. She doesn't reduce the amount of people, just the hours they work.

Back a few months ago, a typical weekday was something like two people working the 10-5 shift, and three working the 5-10 shift.
Now we're down to one 10-5, one 10-2 (cause the 10-5 guy gets a break from 1-2) , and two 5-10.

Now, in terms of sales volume, we are the largest department. In terms of square footage, we're also the largest department. In terms of customers, we have the most. We might have 75-80 people shopping in our department on a weekend. Not all that long ago, I worked for four hours on a sunday afternoon (VERY busy time) alone. If I get ONE customer who asks a lot of questions for a half hour, I can't do anything else. Our layout is confusing. Doesn't really lend itself to being self-serve. Our sales drop as a result of not having enough people, and our hours drop even further. There are full time employees working two days a week, who are financially dependant on that paycheck.

So then everyone is bitter at the ops manager for everything, so less work gets done.

I'm really hoping that she pulls her head out of her ass and realizes that with xmas coming, she needs all the experienced workers she can get her hands on. If she doesn't start giving out more hours, she's going to lose a lot of good people.

This is where the double standard comes into play. It's OK for them to call themselves that, but not OK for us to call them that. Just like only black people can say "nigger."

I don't...unless hard-pressed. Racial/ethnic slurs are words that are weapons...and dastardly weapons at that. You have no idea how many times I bristle hearing the 'N' word...especially from black people.

BTW...Mine is "No, but I used to". Guess I grew up.

Ah, we call ourselves newfies and have no problems with others calling us that...it is after all what we are.

I have the tendency to use slurs about African-American and Mexican people, especially. Well, not all African-American people just the typical "ghetto" ones. I would never use racial slurs directly to a Mexican as I do not want to be impolite. But when I'm with my buds it slips out a lot when I see them alongside in the road packed together in a two seater.

I unconditionally refuse to call black people African Americans. You're either American, or you're not. If you are, start considering yourself an American, not a foreigner. If you aren't, get out of America. Now.

I generally just hate ghetto "black" people.

I'm American. I'm a Bush Supporter. I'm Hindu. Let the world be at peace. :hippy:
