Pet, the whole deal needed hot sauce. I was thinking we could southernize it with some Cholula.

It's a beer...but if Rob wants one of what you are thinking while he eats his poutine I am certainly willing to accommodate.

Hmm... If only I could get cheese curds down here. They are a regional phenomenon localized in Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ontario and Quebec.

i thought gravy on fries was a baltimore thing!
well, at least, around here it's a baltimore thing, lol. up there with crabcakes and natty boh.
i guess the difference is we dont do cheez curds.
a local diner that is very popular has a dish called Disco Fries, they're fries with gravy on top and shredded cheddar cheese on top of that :) but the whole thing turns to cold mush if you don't eat it fast. having a friend or two to help is very useful.

In a little place called "Jerry's Curb Service" in Bridgewater, PA, they serve what they call a steak salad. Basically fries, topped with a salad, topped with strips of steak. The only dressing you get is Italian. Tastes good, too.

I know that it is cheddar instead of curd, but you can get cheese fries with gravy in Louisiana, too...the Chimes! Plus, all kinds of beer from around the world!:hairbang:

Isn't that amazing how you can get really good FRENCH FRIES in France?

well, i had always heard that when something is "french" -- like french toast, french fries, or french-cut green beans -- that it is actually "frenchED", and to french is to cut into thin strips! so french fries and friench toast are not actually french!
so yes, i was very amazed that i could get really good frenched fries in france!
