Does anyone have some actual news concerning this?

Actual Opinion O.K.?

Red Tails: Upcoming Tuskeegee Airmen movie.

At least one of the escorting F-16s was from the Alabama ANG, Red Tail and all.

Could this photo op mission have any particular connection to a new movie due out this year?

Could that connection explain the WHMO's eagerness to get some current glamour shots of BHO's A/C, escorted by the descendants of the Tuskegee Airmen, while flathatting over "the target formerly known as Ground Zero"?

Or are supposed to. I've always judged bosses by how well their employees do their job, and how little he has to do himself. My first words to any boss is "you hired me to do a job, leave me do it" If I fuck it up, I expect to be fired for it.

good points.

but at what level does 'employees as a reflection of the boss' cease to be a realistic expectation? someone's direct boss in a machine shop is one thing. someone removed through several layers of bureaucracy is another.

You know, while the overflight was insensitive and stupid, they did in fact notify the NYPD and the mayors office before the flight. Why didn't the Mayor know? Why didn't someone in the NYC administration protest? I suspect it's SOP to not release information regarding an Air Force One flight plan to the general public. They should have thought it through, yes but all the histrionics have long since passed the ridiculous stage.
This is a good point. I read this also. Total thought failure on all fronts. It makes you wonder what was going through their heads when the decision was made not to release information to notify the public.

Anyway...now there is a big complaint over the cost. The AF says one thing, and the pundits are now adding in the cost of the panicked sheep who called 911, saying that the cost was higher.

If the NYC government had actually released the info on the flyby, provided to them by the FAA, the AF cost would be correct because the sheep on the ground would not have panicked. You can assess blame on the Pres if you like, but this whole debacle lies squarely on the shoulders of the folks holding onto the information.

Now...if you want to know why I used the term 'sheep', just watch a flock of grazing lambs when a large shadow passes overhead...
I agree with your statement.

Decisions were made and those decisions were most obviously bad decisions. Not bad decisions in hind-sight, but just bad decisions, period. There is plenty of blame to be spread about in this case. Dumping it all on the president's shoulders is removing the blame from those that made the decision to hold back the information from the public. Shifting the blame because you do not like that Barak Obama was elected is giving a free pass to the people who are truly to blame. (For the record, I have said similar statements when Bush was president as well. Keep the blame where it belongs. Otherwise you are letting the true culprits off the hook.)

There were two horrible attacks (or one if you want to lump them together) that are still very vivid in the minds of the people who witnessed (or survived) those attacks. I would say that these people had reason to flee and panic.

Anyone heard whether this guy is going to lose his job or what? The decent thing would be for him to resign.

He should resign.

Prez Joey Biden couldn't possibly be any worse.

Say.........we agree again.

There are many presidential cabinet positions which must be held by people competent to make a sound decision without micro-management from the President. However, this was a BIG mistake. Regardless of the admission and apology, the position of director of the White House Military Office is not a position that Louis Caldera should be in if he's making a mistake this big. His action deserves his resignation, or his removal.

He should resign.

Prez Joey Biden couldn't possibly be any worse.

Well, maybe she figured because there is a poster on the other side of the aisle who makes that sort of leap all the time, that it was OK for her to do it too, seeing as you never seem to say that he is dumber than a sack of rocks for doing the same thing.

Oh come on now! He may make some leaps, but it doesn't seem quite that insane or as far of a reach as often, and certainly his reaches are not nearly as funny from a humor standpoint!

Another thing Inkara....I am very centrist and on some issues farther right than a lot of folks, but what makes it a lot easier to be annoyed by conservatives is the fact, that liberals tend to try and convince me why they are right, while conservatives hear anything that is to the left of them and call me liberal and they truly think the label is an insult. It's a lot easier to feel ok about attacking those who attack you first.
