Taxes...you seem to have an issue with taxes and I suppose, welfare, unemployment insurance, medicaid, medical, veterans medical services as well. You don't like to pay taxes..go somewhere where there are no taxes. Zaire is nice this time of year.
I have no problem with reasonable taxation. Our constitution was set up that there would be only tariffs and excises. That portion of the law of the land has gone by the wayside.
Your taxes pay for lots of things that you use daily, even hourly. Whether they're local taxes, municipal, state or Federal. They're the contract you have with your country. You give over some of you money and it's used in conjunction with other people's money to pay for a good/service you get to use.
I haven't read this "contract" you speak of and I sure as hell didn't sign it.
The constitution does not require taxation. That came along in 1913. They have been thinking up new taxes ever since.
Are you aware that the income tax came to being after the SCotUS declared it unconstitutional? It was only after the constitution was amended that the congress gained that power. Also, that was the first time that the constitution ever declared a power to the congress, which they anointed themselves with.
Your Military/police/firemen are a good example. They too are paid with money that was taken from you under threat of force (the law). I suppose that the armed forces, cops, and firemen place you in servitude as well?
I guess you think that one out of three is sufficient to your needs. Police and fire personnel are not constitutionally mandated. Only the military is.
Up until the late 19th century police and fire services were handled using volunteers. Many cities still have volunteer fire brigades as it should be. We could lower taxes by a bunch if there were no professional firefighters being paid large salaries.
Which part is unacepteable? Taxes? Paying taxes? It doesn't matter who's in office... if you refuse to pay taxes, you've broken the law and the contract that you have with America (The Constitution). You will eventually get found out and arrested and then fined. Everything else you've said is pure paranoia.
There was no law until the greedy politicians made it up and amended the constitution to grant themselves power. That is not how it was supposed to be.
I follow the law, pay my taxes and reap the rewards of doing so. It's called being part of a society. The other side of the democratic contract.
Tariffs and excises were the constitutional means of operating the country until 1913.
Taxation with representation. Refuse taxation.. don't expect any representation.
I can live with that.
