give your SIM a dust down is our first port of call for phone faults and 75% of the time that fixes it.

You saying that the reason I sometimes find my phone saying "Insert SIM" and when I turn it off and back on it's sorted, could be due to dust on the SIM card?

So What do you do when that doesn't solve it? :p

Sony J6, had it for about 16 months now but it's been doing that maybe twice a month more or less ever since I've had it.. have dropped it maybe three times since I've had it but not in the past two months..

One of two reasons: Handset fault or SIM fault. Need to try another compatible (I.e. Orange) SIM in your handset and your SIM in a handset on the same network as you. If you still get the error with a different SIM in the handset, handset fault. Im sure you can figger the outcome for the other one....

The thing is it happens so sporadically it would take an age to try to get the thing to happen..

It's deblocked as it happens though, took it to NZ with me and pinched my old number back from my mum for the time I was there.. :D

You should be able to upgrade after 12 months if it works the same as here. Get a brand new handset and be flash

we do prepay upgrades here. The discount and handsets available to you are based on spend (i.e. £5 off for every £50 you top up by over the year). Give it a try on your net

Yeah its an alright-ish handset. My mate had one and we found the voice recording bit fun for all of an hpour. But it doesnt hold up to well compared to say the Nokia 6310i or 6100

In what aspects does it not hold up well? My only complaints are the vibrator (never feel it), and the battery life (3 days if I'm lucky with no usage, course that could just be my battery); on the other hand its size and jog dial are absolutely awesome - T9 messages with this thing just fly by... :)
