    Thoughts?

Na. I'll pull that one and install a 120GB drive and put the 60GB drive in one of my portable drive caddies. Besides, it'll lose Homer edition and install Pro anyway cause' Homer doesn't know dink about a domain. Still have a number of licences for being a Registered Partner.

    Thoughts?

Well, my cost is pretty cheap really on that system, with a core duo being about twice that. I'm not real interested in big time performance, as all I do is work. Work on this, work on that, yada, yada, yada. If I was to get a system to play games with then this wouldn't be it. I do web work...

    Computer Problem!

One thing to point out when it comes to protection that many seem to either forget or just don't know about. That good ol' tele line has something like 48V (average) coming through it. A nice little spike, unprotected, could sent your motehrboard a nice jolt. The only thing in the way are a few...

    dropping ZA, free firewall suggestions?

My preference is an external firewall, such as a router. Either way, it's all software but I believe the key is that an external firewall is more prone to fending off intrusion than a firewall that's internal to the computer your using. By the time a hack is made, your OS is already taking a...

    Meet Jack

Everything I've read and heard says about 12-15 years. No that long but getting an older dog will allow me to spend time with a dog that needs very little training to see how things go.

    Meet Jack

Well, Jack found a home. It wasen't us but another couple sho had been looking at him before we did. Now comes Zack though. The information I recieved on him makes him seem like a pretty good dog all around. He's seven years old, housebroken, great with kids, men, and women, loves to run, sleeps...

    Meet Jack

I'm really not sure why the guy gave him up, but the people he is with now are a rescue organization that help these dogs find homes. They also go through a lot of medical exams, all shots, teeth cleaning, spay/neuter, and all that before going to a new home. But, these are the kind of questions...

    Meet Jack

They get the name from the way they run. Extremely agile animals that "whip" back and forth when chasing game. Here's a bit of info on them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whippet And here are some pictures of them: http://www.flickr.com/groups/whippets/pool/

    Meet Jack

Whippet's are a cross between a family (not sure exactly which) of greyhound and a particular family of terrier (not really sure here either, as everything I've read about it differs). They were bred in the 1800's in Ireland and were used for hunting rabbits and small game. Therefore, ol' Jack...

They started out at something like 65 or 85W then later they got that down to 35W and now the Turion's run at around 25W. I've got an Averatec 3270 here with a Sempron 2800+ and yes, it's gets pretty warm but I've never experienced any overheating that toasted anything.

Or and the Turion's are 64-bit. Centrino based processors, Pentium M's, are not.
