CAFE standards are a joke. At best, they're there to level the playing field. At worst, they're protectionist standards.

I would love to be able to get my hands on some of those Euro spec cars. I'm hoping Ford does bring the Focus RS stateside. 305hp turbo 5 cylinder compact hatch....wheeeee.
VW has some great turbo diesels. Vauxhall (GM Europe) makes some nice little cars as well. These cars all get very good mileage because gas is so expensive there.
I'll take small, nimble with good throttle response over sheer mass any day. Your big F-whatever could crush it, but ya gotta catch it first.
