That's probably the funniest thing I've heard all year.

I think Republicans are trying to come to terms with the House being a lost cause. If they manage to keep the Senate by a seat or two they'll see it as a victory.

A few questions:

1. Has anyone here ever been polled by Zogby, PMSNBC, CNN, Harris, or any other well known outfit?

(Didn't think so...)

2. Have we not already established ad nauseum that MSNBC is biased in its coverage?

(Thought so...)

3. Can anyone name the last time any political pollster ever got anything correct?

(Didn't think so...)

4. Are any of these polls exit polls yet?

(Of course not...)

5. Are any of these polls restricted to include only those people who are registered to vote and intend to do so?

(Didn't think so...)

6. Is there anyone here who doubts for one nanosecond that a poll can be made to say anything the purchaser wishes it to say?

(Probably, and I bet I can name them...)

7. Does anyone here have any actual real life experience in polling?

(Didn't think so...)

8. Does anybody else remember all the network news idiots handing Florida, and hence the White House, to Al Gore before all the votes were counted?

(Likely...)

8a. Does anyone else realize that Florida is on the eastern coast of America?

(Possibly...)

8b. Does anyone else realize that the eastern coast of America is in a time zone hours ahead of most of the rest of the country?

(Maybe...)

8c. Does anyone else therefore deduce that the proclamation of Gore winning Florida was done to manipulate voters elsewhere watching on TV who by and large have no coherent idea what they are voting for ("Clinton's cool, he played a sax on TV, I'll vote for him.") and would then decide to vote for the winning candidate?

(I doubt it...)

Conclusion: MSNBC data is useless. When someone posts reliable data from a confirmed independent polling organization who has done a scientifically sound statistically significant study, I want to see it. Until then, and we all know it does not exist, it's all either speculation or manipulation of data. If that kind of thing, like other bright shiny objects, amuses you then by all means be my guest. Just do the rest of us a favor and present your drivel as such and in so doing refrain from insulting the intelligence of the informed voters among us from both parties as well as those from neither party.

'Preciate it.

Polls present the conclusions that the pollsters want them to present. Always have.

7. Does anyone here have any actual real life experience in polling?

I've had two phone polls (none from the experts) & an occasional mall poll. I've never gotten past the third question. They don't seem to like my answers. Is that an indicator?

From the above website's online poll question:

Sounds bipartisan to me, making it about as useful as a screen door on a submarine and as reliable as anything that drips out of Paula Zahn's piehole.

Next.

Looks like they were pretty damn close.

We'll soon become France west.

 Wait, je ne parle pas Francais!!!!!

You realize that in reality our "liberals" are actually more conservative than the "conservatives" in most other countries, don't you?

Besides, don't you like bon-bons and croissants???? :lloyd:

It means higher taxes for the average Joe (in search of Marxing the rich).

It means those who believe in socialism & peace at any cost control the purse strings.

If they grab both houses, it means Bush may finally find his Veto Pen.

Betcha the bigger part is not specifically enumerated in the Constitution but the smaller part is.

The next two years are going to be an eye-opening lesson to America as to why dems shouldn't be allowed on the Hill or in the White House unsupervised:

1. Impeach Bush and Cheney.

2. Cut and run.

3. Repeal the Patriot Act.

4. End the terror surveillance program.

5. Raise our taxes.

6. Pass a gay marriage bill.

7. Legalize cloning.

8. Universal health care.

9. Spend, spend, spend.

10. Unrestrained illegal immigration.

11. Close Guantanamo Bay

12. Give terrorists Constitutional rights.

13. Confiscation of ALL privately-owned firearms.

The dems have two years to prove to American voters that they made a good choice in the midterm elections, or face the music in 2008. The clock is ticking.

*Wraps the tinfoil a bit more tightly around his head.*

The administration is already working on "cut and run" BTW.

President Bush and his aides are annoyed that people keep misinterpreting his Iraq policy as "stay the course." A complete distortion, they say. "That is not a stay-the-course policy," White House press secretary Tony Snow declared yesterday.

We have been -- we will complete the mission, we will do our job and help achieve the goal, but we're constantly adjusting the tactics. Constantly."

Stay the course means to stick it out. Too bad the opposition party & their media buddies decided to change it to a negative connotation.
