About that Border again

What good is a fence, UAV, and other survelance....?

We gotta have more man power, with fire power, and the right to use it.

In all seriousness, instead of that why not use that man power and fire power against well known established drug mafias operating within US territory?

What was the last big US drug lord caught? hmmmmm..............lemme see...........can't remember........it must be because your gmnt never catches one.

They catch small-time operations from time to time. Those probably don't have enough of a dollar value to make international news. It's especially so now that the national drug of choice is meth... from what I've seen, it tends to be made in small and medium batches in people's kitchens and bathrooms instead of all centralized in a few major drug labs.

I'm talking about the mexican-cartel or colombian-cartel lords (or sub lords) operating in the US. They wouldn't export all that stuff if it wasn't getting bought.

My point being that money can buy a lot of things...including easy access across the borders.

The important stuff...the really important stuff, you can't buy.

Wave a million bucks in front of my daughter's face and she'll get a kick out of ripping the paper to ribbons...but unless you're smiling when you give them to her, she ain't gonna smile back. :D
*she may dump them in favor of a Dollar store teddy tho' :D

well yeah there's all kinda of non-physical stuff.....
like security, apparently can't be bought.

The War on Drugs was lost-much like Prohibition.

The cartels who are now confronting our National Guard & Broder Patrol should be immediately extinguished, with prejudice..

North American Union baby. Folks won't try to stop it until it's too late (may be already)

Because the trails lead to outside the US. The climate here isn't suitable for large-scale coca production, and big marijuana crops are easy to spot from the air, leaving indoor production under high-wattage lamps the feasible alternative.

:grinno: It's because the big drug lords aren't in the US for the reasons stated above...;)

Yeah right, no one is in charge of manage, distribute and sell all the drug produced in foreign countries.

the majority of people jailed for drug-related offenses here are users and low level dealers. the ones that dont have anything to trade with the government for lighter sentences.

Middle-men and low-level dealers...which are not responsible for decision-making. Most of those 'in charge' of anything in the drug business in the US are in charge of one thing only. Getting their shipment sold. If you want those truly 'in charge', you go for the growers and producers. Those are the guys you have to shake down because they get the profits. Otherwise, you bust every user and ship them off to the jusgado...which doesn't work, either.

That's like saying the farmers are the real bosses while wal-mart is just a middle-man.

Producers are big, but as usual, distributors are the ones taking the biggest share.
