What Canadian restaurants would that be? ... Pizza Hut? New York Fries? The Vietnam place? What constitutes a Canadian restaurant?

Joba's Kebab shop in Tamworth. There is no better post pub kebab shop. Tandoori chicken in a Naan with mint yoghurt and salad. Couple of shaami kebabs and chicken pakora chucked on top. Burger king is the best burger joint.

I better add A&W to the list.... they're a Canadian chain. ;)
I did a little research and found out a few things. A&W started in California. The did expand into Canada, but sold off the Canadian operations to Unilever in 1972. Now A&W in Canada has no connection to A&W elsewhere. A&W in the US is owned by Yum! Brands, the same company that owns KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, etc., while

Speaking of local fast food joints, Lucky Wishbone, Luke's Chicago Style and Hoagie House (all in Tucson, BTW)(any of 'em in Phoenix too, Winky?). Absolutely cannot stand Pizza Hut, BTW.

Speaking of A&W, anyone else remember when you could get a quart of fries? A&W is in with Long John Silver's here and the fries taste like fish (really icky fish).

Junk Food Junkie
Larry Groce
Written by Larry Groce

You know I love that organic cooking
I always ask for more
And they call me Mr. Natural
On down to the health food store
I only eat good sea salt
White sugar don't touch my lips
And my friends is always
Begging me to take them
On macrobiotic trips
Yes, they are
Oh, but at night I stake out my strongbox
That I keep under lock and key
And I take it off to my closet
Where nobody else can see
I open that door so slowly
Take a peek up north and south
Then I pull out a Hostess Twinkie
And I pop it in my mouth
Yeah, in the daytime I'm Mr. Natural
Just as healthy as I can be
But at night I'm a junk food junkie
Good lord have pity on me
Well, at lunchtime
You can always find me
At the Whole Earth Vitamin Bar
Just sucking on my plain white yogurt
From my hand thrown pottery jar
And sippin' a little hand pressed cider
With a carrot stick for dessert
And wiping my face
In a natural way
On the sleeve of my peasant shirt
Oh yeah
Ah, but when that clock strikes midnight
And I'm all by myself
I work that combination
On my secret hideaway shelf
And I pull out some Fritos corn chips
Dr. Pepper and an Ole Moon Pie
Then I sit back in glorious expectation
Of a genuine junk food high
Oh yeah, in the daytime I'm Mr. Natural
Just as healthy as I can be
But at night I'm a junk food junkie
Good lord have pity on me
My friends down at the commune
They think I'm pretty neat
Oh, I don't know nothing about arts and crafts
But I give 'em all something to eat
I'm a friend to old Euell Gibbons
And I only eat homegrown spice
I got a John Keats autographed Grecian urn
Filled up with my brown rice
Yes, I do
Oh, but folks lately I have been spotted
With a Big Mac on my breath
Stumbling into a Colonel Sanders
With a face as white as death
I'm afraid someday they'll find me
Just stretched out on my bed
With a handful of Pringles Potato Chips
And a Ding Dong by my head
In the daytime I'm Mr. Natural
Just as healthy as I can be
But at night I'm a junk food junkie
Good lord have pity on me

Hmm... Always thought that was a Steve Goodman tune...

Chik-Fil-A, hands down, has the perfect chicken sammich.

A&W rocks, but the one around here no longer uses the real frosty glass mugs. Draft root beer in a paper cup just...ain't.

Sonic has the burger market cornered.

Krystal makes the best fries known to mankind.

I miss the chili cheese burrito at Taco Belll dammit!

The A&W here still uses the frosty glass mugs too, if you eat there. If you get it to go or use the drive-thru they use the paper cups.

We don't have Sonic, Hardee's/Carl's Jr (there was a Hardee's a few towns away but closed a couple of years ago), or Chick-Fil-A, and I'm sure there's others we don't have. A&Ws around here aren't standalones, the only ones I know of are in malls' food courts. There's an up and coming chain Culver's that I haven't tried much yet, went to one downstate and wasn't that impressed, but they're building one next to the store I used to work at. Anyone else hear of or go to a Culver's?

You can have any type of meal you want. I just like tacos better :headbang:

Particularly when it is something fast or not formal, I do not eat at places of known (big) companies, I like the food where the actual owner is preparing and serving.

It's a testament to the power of advertising and the average stupidity of people that places like Pizza Hut can still thrive here despite having about 400 different places better for pizza within driving distance, usually at a better price too.
