Call a spade a spade already

My current state of residence is nowhere near my state of birth, enlightenment or progression. This has nothing to do with the Klan. It has to do with the great white gentelmen of the South blocking bills to make lynching a federal offense while a particular souther gentleman tries to point out Delwares shortcomings as a metaphor for the racist tendencies of the north. I'm pretty sure I'm not one that perpetuates the myth of the southern belle nor the southern bigotry.

If you think the notion of the Southern belle is a myth, you really have been gone too long.

And I'll say it again. If all those self-righteous senators were so holy, surely they could have gotten past a few evil Southern racist senators and passed this piece of legislation. Had they really wanted to. But Southerners are the only racists in America...everyone knows that. Y'all have a proven track record of getting what you want past any objections from Dixie; see Reconstruction, American South. Nice job of body snatching on those Oregon senators by the way...primo example of ideal government.

And by no means ever convince yourself that the hypocrisy stops in Delaware...by no means at all.

Excuse me? You have a problem with some politcal wrangling & a war that happened a century before me. Fine. Have at it. I'll even argue the general northern position since I agree with it. However, you'll have to show me when I've participated in the lynching, the shenanigans or the continuation of mythology. Just because I disagree with your assessment does not give you the right to assume things about my actions.

The flag represents a treasonous attempt to break up the country. It represents a region that supported slavery & treason over a unified, free America. Just because you believe that the south got shafted doesn't mean we're ignorant of the facts.

Imagine living in that place you've described. It falls between heaven & slavery. Pick one.

I think the stars & bars are representative of a slave owning seperatist community

That & the fact that Lincoln lobbied against slavery as a congressman shows this war had mulitple facets.

You're certainly not in a hurry to let it go, now are you? You have been known to wave it in front of SnP's face.

BTW, would you rather I picked Arizona?

Just as you'll have to show me where lynching is exclusively a Southern phenomenon.

Plenty of shenanigans to go around. Only difference is, some we choose to remember and beat into the ground, while others we choose top sweep under the rug. That's been my point all along, but it keeps getting sidestepped.

As to the continuation of mythology, you know what my reply to that will be. You say emancipator, I say hypocrite. I have his speeches to support my assessment; you have history books written and edited in Boston. You tell me who's spreading myths.

I never suggested it was. The highlighted section of the article points to Southern Senators filibustering anti-lynching laws.

HomeLAN, I'm not the one continually briging it up. I'm the one suggesting that neither slavery nor states rights were the exclusive domain of either side. We had a Civil War for a number of reasons. SnP suggests, continuously, that it's all about federal power. I disagree. If you notice, every one of the quotes has something to say about several events leading to the eventual outcome. Including slavery.

Todays story was one that made me think of SnP, due to his vigilance against the whole.

They're spicks or wetbacks here, not beaners. Well, people Winky's age call them beaners, but then again he probably calls the Chinese Chinamen instead of Chinks, too... the old coot.

there is another wunderful benefit to having 500,000
illegal aliens in this state

Car theft

I got this in with my registration renewal.

Now you are NOT going to believe this!

----------------
When you enroll in the "Watch Your Car" program, please be aware that you are allowing law enforcement officials to stop your vehicle between the hours of 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM and when your vehicle is in close proximity to any border, no matter what the hours may be. Additionally, when you elect to transfer ownership of the vehicle, you will be responsible for removing both stickers and informing this office of your cancellation.

The Watch Your Car decal program is a free, voluntary program whereby vehicle owners enroll their vehicles with the Arizona Automobile Theft Authority. The vehicle is then entered into the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) database and participants receive decals for their front and rear windows. By displaying the decals, vehicle owners convey to law enforcement officials that their vehicle is not usually in use between the hours of 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM, when the majority of auto thefts occur. In addition, by enrolling in the Watch Your Car Program, vehicle owners also authorize law enforcement officials to stop their vehicle at any time during the day or night within one mile of the border, if there is a suspicion that the vehicle is being illegally operated.

If a police officer witnesses the vehicle in operation between these hours, they have the right to stop the vehicle and verify it is being legally operated by the rightful owner.
-----------
at the bottom of the form it sez:
--------------
I realize that persons operating my vehicle between the hours of 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM, with consent, are subject to a police stop under circumstances in which the police reasonably suspect that the vehicle may be stolen. In these instances, police action will include the necessary precautions generally taken to protect officers when approaching a potentially stolen vehicle. I agree specifically to advise the person to whom I give possession of the vehicle, that this agreement exists and that they will be subject to being stopped by the police during the prescribed hours. I will not authorize such person to let anyone use the vehicle.

and...
not on the form but on the online sign up form:
I further consent and agree to indemnify and hold harmless any local, county, state or federal duly sworn law enforcement officer or agency against any and all claims arising from my participation in this program.

You do know what: In these instances, police action will include the necessary precautions generally taken to protect officers when approaching a potentially stolen vehicle. Means don't you?

Lawlessness is running rampant and this is what they do to try and stop it?

Remove you from your car at gunpoint ram your face into the pavement cram a knee into your neck cuff you and throw your sorry ass into the back of a squad?

See the part about the border?
Before you know your car is gone it's already in Messco.
Or in the chop shop and it's parts are on the way south.
Another benefit to Vincenta Foxie?

Hmmm...methinks this is another attempt by the media to try and restrict our rights.

I'll explain.

Remember the big, and ongoing, debate about 'gun control', and how evil and ignorant gun owners are? Remember how the attacks upon the second amendment divided the country? Now we have this new scandal about 'illegal aliens'. Some of it is true, but isn't the rest just media hype in order to sell newspapers/ad space?

 How about this...make it legal to shoot people slipping over the border, and add $50 to the bounty for a head shot. Solve that pesky gun problem and the illegal alien problem at the same time, as the guns used for the cull would have to be registered. :p

yeah an invasion of 20 million is just a media ploy

 Considering that this has been going on since the 1870's, and has been a problem since then, I don't see how this is such a big issue now. Just call it 'taking the focus away from problems we can actually solve'.

Well we didn't take half yer paycheck and give it directly to
the illegal aliens in 1870 either.

And there wasn't no equal rights crap a goin' on then
and hell wimens' didn't even have the vote
And WTF does 1870 have to do with 2005??????

So are you going to cut your own lawn, pick your own veggies/fruit, and clean your own septic tank?
