Fear of commitment?

I just don't get whats the big deal with this... does anybody care to enlighten me on the matter?

WHAT is so fricking scary about getting into a commited relationship? WHY must guys avoid the question of 'commitment' and the concept of a 'relationship' like the plague?

Isn't it the ultimate demonstration of respect, integrity and responsibility?

who knows? not all guys are afraid but maybe some want to play the field some more, or they maybe scared to be hurt and not show it

No, its the ultimate compromise.

A child who has been raised to be himself is now a man who has to be with someone...which means compromising a lot of "self". It's not a indentity losing experience but compromise of any kind sucks. Its the feeling of being tied down.

That is one of the reasons.

other possible reasons.

1) A lot of women have this nagging need to change anyone in their lives (you know this is true women)...especially boyfriends.

2) The word commitment itself is an overkill. Same the word "nuclear" scares people from what is a very safe method of energy.

3) A lot of times a guy may not have the intensity you do in a relationship. Sex with you is great untill it becomes apprent to him that it is sex with only you...for a long time.

4) and a very good reason: He just doesn't want to. You may be ready, he isn't.

Ya gotta love someone to commit.

Yeah.

I wouldn't commit unless I was in love and sure about it. I've had gfs with whom I spent a really great time, but I would have never commited with one of them.

Give it time, he might love you but isn't sure yet, or he might not love you at all.

find a fine young man to 'commit' to her

to have and to hold
in sickness and in health
for richer for poorer
until DEATH do they finally get to part

Heck me kid’s had 3 committed relationships
And hasn’t reached the age of majority hee hee
