~1500/850 here on dsl (line provided by qwest) for about $50/mo between qwest and the isp. i'd kill for FTTH, but right now i live on the poor end of the twin cities so we're the last to get anything cool.

My friend has FiOS. We went to several speed test sites, most got about 14,000 down and 2,000 up. It was sickeningly fast. You download a small 3MB program, it's done in the time it takes to blink. Huge pictures on websites load almost instantly. He pays $45 a month for the internet, and $30 a month for the phone (unlimited "regional" which for him is everywhere in The Empire State, $0.05 a minute long distance. For $50 you get free long distance, but since he uses his cell for long distance, it's unnecessary). Apparantly there's something where DirecTV signals go throught the fiber, but I don't know if it's available yet.

Well shit. Comcast has updated their AUP & it now includes PC language. So, I'll be downloading at or near 1500Mbs & uploading at or about 2000 Mbs come Monday the 28th.

I'm still pissed though.
