Do you really think it's ok for the moderators to start the personal attacks though?
 
No, mods are the one that are supposed to be pushing the direction of the board, and the threads. If a mod starts namecalling, it's percieved as ok, becuase they are a mod, the person who should be Enforcing the rules, not breaking them. If a member starts it, the mod should be the one sending a pm or editing posts.
 
I think vbulletin puts something in the software that flashes subliminal messages on your screen telling you to antagonize everyone :(
 
There's nothing really against the rules about calling people names, being based on free speech and all. The only true limitations are no porn and no warez, which are rules of our host.
 
With exceptions, mods & members don't seem to name-call. It's usually a percieved notion. Which is why smilies were invented.

the use of abusive and/or derogatory phrases toward other members will not be tolerated.
