In every child is what is known and unknown. The unknown is feared...that's a biological imperative. Something which you cannot predict can and may kill you. Often, there is little that you can do about it...so you try and appease it...directly or indirectly. Sometimes that translates into the god complex. Polytheism - a god for every season and every reason--literally. This was pared down eventually to a smaller form of Polytheism and then Monotheism, when the unknowns became known. A more singular uber-being became necessary. That 'miracles' became attributed to a single entity instead of a lack of understanding of what is/was really going on does not make them 'facts of demostrations of power'. Nor does unquestioning belief in a particular uber-power make such a creature exist.

I think that you're wrong as well...and so where do we go from there? You are free to believe your beliefs...am I free to believe mine?

Nah you fucked it up. It has nothing to do with killing people or the war now which was the subject. Obama's landslide and Bush's approval rating was proof of were American's want their country headed.

By the way I don't think you understand socialism either. But hey throw around random labels, maybe you'll scare some less intelligent folks.

No it is like the guy in the mental institution that swears he is Napoleon. He isn't, but you could never convince him of that. Same principle at work here. For many years people thought the world was flat, but that didn't make it so. The Wright brothers were loony! Man cannot fly ever! But yet now we do!

I believe, quite firmly that nobody alive can know the mystery of the power behind the universe. I don't particularly think "god" is even the best word for it. The point is, even those convinced that they know all the particulars can't. I also believe atheism is a myth because I think some form of spirituality is so integral to what any human being is, that it is just another form of denial.

Again I will quote the same little paragraph:

Does life originate from nothing, mean nothing and proceed nowhere? Like I said I am not even sure that "god" is even the best word for it, just inasmuch that people get a picture of something likely to be a fable. I wouldn't say there is some man in the sky who grants favors, But I am quite sure there is something more to all this that binds all things living and non-living together than meets the eye or can be explained by science. Hell even a lot of scientists have come on board with this theory of late.

I can't really see how it would fall to me to do this for you. But I'll start you off with a couple things "socialism" is not a big scary thing, it's method for getting things done. Socialized things can coexist with capitalism. See Sweden.

We have many "socialized" things in the US already that work well. Fire departments, police, post office, military, and highways. Health care can easily be one of these because it makes sense. Profit does not provide the right motivations in healthcare. It encourages repeat customers and prescriptions instead of fixing problems so they go away.

Imagine if our police were run on a for-profit basis?

The improvement in numbers looks like it's because we have a better president and got some more of the republicans out of office. Wow, things are looking up.

We both agree that it is a drastic improvement in numbers that people are waking up. We also agree as to the cause which is President Obama. The only thing we seem to disagree on is what the numbers actually indicate.

Have you ever considered a career with ACORN? From what I've seen you would fit in good with that organization.
