Planned Parenthood, in its effort to extinguish life is "basically in survival mode here,".

No wonder the Americans are so pissed about abortion...we're paying for it.
(CNSNews.com) - The Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the nation's most frequent provider of abortions, is performing more of the procedures than ever -- albeit in fewer clinics -- and relying increasingly on the revenue generated from abortions, according to its Fiscal Year 2004 annual report.

With other services becoming marginalized in Planned Parenthood's overall business, the organization relied on abortion for 34 percent of its clinic income from July 1, 2003, to June 30, 2004, up from 32 percent in Fiscal Year 2002 and FY 2003.

After a spike in private contributions two years ago, Planned Parenthood saw those donations drop 17 percent last year, but U.S. taxpayer assistance in the form of government grants reached record levels.

Consumer Reports rates effectiveness of condoms

Consumer Reports' Comprehensive Guide to Contraception is available online free at the health and fitness section at www.ConsumerReports.org, Cox News Service reports.

Some of the guide's main findings include: All tested latex condoms met or exceeded the minimum industry standard air-burst test requirement and CR recommends choosing from among the highest-rated condoms using price or performance as a guide. The highest-rated models are: Durex Extra Sensitive Lubricated Latex; Durex Performax Lubricated; Lifestyles Classic Collection Ultra Sensitive Lubricated; TheyFit Lubricated; Trojan Extended Pleasure Climax Control Lubricant; Trojan Non-Lubricated; and Trojan Ultra Pleasure Spermicidal Lubricant.

The report found two models users should avoid: Planned Parenthood's Assorted Colors and Honeydew models, which scored lowest in the ratings. However, another Planned Parenthood model, Lollipop, is a much better choice and rated excellent overall in CR's tests.

So ya know the best way to put this
prestigious organization out of business?

Other than lies and immorality what is the product it offers?
Who are its customers?

I was thinking more along the lines
of fambily values.

But then I realized no one even knows what those
are anymore. Oh Well keep plookin' and scrapin'
and wondering why things aren't going right...

I know, lets scrap the lot - promote abstinence and teenage virtue (note: oxymoron)... that'll do it.

Just turn away at the rise in dodgy backstreet abortions or do-it-yourself with a coat-hanger kits made by young women - that risk bleeding to death in the process.

Lets encourage 15 yr olds to get married as soon as they can and if not, turn our head away at the "accidental" teen pregnancies that magically occur because they've been brainwashed to believe condoms (designed for a specific purpose :tard: ) don't work - let the increase in young parents bludge off the taxpayers money instead - let them miss out on the chance to go to college or do something they want rather than go through with the consequences of a mistake made due to stupidity, ignorance or just plain old hormonal impulsiveness.

Ahem, my mother had me at the age of 15, unmarried of course, boyfriend done a runner as soon as he found out she was preggers. Guess what, instead of being brainwashed by society telling her she was a loser, total dropout for having a child at such a young age, she went on to further education, finished uni and now works as a manager for one of the largest banks in Australia. So really there is no need to miss out on anything and remember this all happened back in the 70's where unmarried teen mums where a big no no and brought shame on the rest on the family.

3 horrible reasons for an abortion and the main problem against abortion. I am pro choice because you can piss and moan like motherfucker against abortion but if you're a man pontificating on the issue of a women's choice than more woman should have a say on whether you get to keep your balls or not....simply put: It is not your body, you will never know. I remember reading a quote once which went like this

77% of anti-abortionists are men, 77% of them will never know what it is like to have a child"

with that said...

Stupidity, ignorance and hormonal impulses are 3 horribly excuses which tarnish the cause of abortion and it is seriousness. For the life in me I can't ever imagine having a child (not producing one, but having one...like one coming out of my urethera) so I can't say much but don't give me this "it'll ruin society and tear down the fabric of morality" BS. Parents are lazy and uncomfortable about taking to their kids about sex....they are. Even those that aren't, have trouble and we have all been 16...at that age you felt your parents were wrong and you knew it all....

....but still, with that said...

Stupidity, ignorance and hormonal impulses are terrible excuses for abortions...and if they keep becoming the main reasons for abortions then the cause will lose whatever, serious, support it had....

....but with that said...

a second chance is a beautiful thing. I could never reach a deciding point on this issue because after observing my own life i've found that there were so many occasions where my decisions seemed obtuse or wrong to others but I wished they had studied the case closer to really see why I did what I did. Same way some woman may seem like a slut or whore for getting an abortion but you just never know her reasons for doing what she did, her circumstance, her qualms, her conundrums.

I too, am pro-choice. Did you not get that sarcasm?

:erm: Straff - I'm not ditching teen sex or pregnancy - One of my best friends had a baby at 17.

My point is that Sex happens - obviously - Sex happens- and

very easily to many - especially if you're a reckless and experimental, hormonally charged teen - and just like the right you have to choose who you have sex with so should you have the right to choose whether or not you want to go through with the pregnancy should you fall pregnant accidentally and you don't know what to do. There is no doubt that abortion is not an excuse not to be responsible about prevention and contraceptive use - but it is definately something that should be an open option to those that want to choose it without pressure from others condeming them from their moral high-ground with narrow-minded views. It is a matter of personal choice as much as deciding to be a teen mother - however, nobody likes to see babies having babies, do they? If the option isn't there legally or openly avaliable then it will still go on behind closed doors and in much more risky and dangerous scenarios inevitably will occur - If someone wants to end their pregnancy, they will try any way they can to do possibly it.

I disagree with the abuse of abortion as an alternative to being responsible about contraception - but you're right IC- in the end it is a woman's choice - a womans body.

It is specifically a female issue - and a female issue alone, it is a woman's body, it is a woman's right to have every option legally avaliable to her, and the right to choose what is right for her. There is no male who will ever be in the rightful position to determine whether or not abortion is right or wrong seeing as they will never have to go through with such a procedure. Ending a pregnancy is never easy - but it should be an option for anyone that willingly is able to and needs to go through with it for whatever reason.

77% of anti-abortionists are men, 77% of them will never know what it is like to have a child"

Has anyone ever seen "If these walls could talk?" with Demi Moore?

It is dated but still a really powerful insight of what it is like having to deal with getting pregnant when you don't want to.

IMO "Stupidity, ignorance and hormonal impulses" are not excuses, no matter how terrible, for abortion... they are the excuses for the act that results in pregnancy.

Terrible excuses for abortion include... self assessment and evaluation, realisation of ineptitude, mental/physical illness, rape, relationship breakdown... and others.

Now thats my first and last word...

When that was the typical attitude, we had fewer fatherless kids & out of wedlock births.

Instead, we're actively advocationg teen preganancy instead of self control.

Yep, for every horror story you hear about how horrible getting pregnant young is and how it will screw up your life, there are 25 (or more) of these that you never hear about.

Sorry. I'm not buying that. If that were the case, then one out of every 26 people would have been born out-of-wedlock. Remember...we're not talking about children from a divorced couple, here. We're talking about teen pregnancy. As for Staffrodore's case, I'd say it's rare. I'll also ask this...how did his grandparents figure into this equation? In cases like his, the family unit also has the grandparents involved. If they weren't[/I] involved, his case is extrememly rare.

Fella name of Darwin had a name for that.

In Norway, abortions are free. There are no "abortion-clinics" over here. Just your local hospital.

Btw, I got pregnant at 16. Getting to high-school and college with a kid is not all that hard over here. Well, not for me anyways, other teen-moms may see it differently.

When people hear "planned parenthood" clinics...all they think about is "Abortion"... it's like a red flash before their eyes. This thread started as a statement about how the PP clinics are relying more and more on the moneys from abortions to stay afloat. Hmmm.... strange that they didn't mention what other services that PP provides that needs financial support.

like:

family planning counseling and birth control

pregnancy testing and counseling

gynecological care, Pap tests, breast exams

emergency contraception

HIV testing and counseling

medically accurate sexuality education

screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections

infertility screening and counseling

voluntary sterilization for women and men

reproductive medical exams for men

safer sex counseling

midlife services

abortions or abortion referrals

prenatal care

adoption referrals

primary care

referrals for specialized care
All of these services are offered cheaply to anyone who comes in. Many of them charging under cost for the services. Yeah..they provide more abortions than any other clinics... it's known to be a safe place to do so.

Anyone think of a good reason why all of these services should be stopped for the sake of stopping one which is decidedly unpopular with the right-wing?
