On topic - kinda
During a conversation with a Nun recently...the topic turned to racism etc...
she summed it up nicely like this....
'They are different from us'
'They are not like us'
'They do not like us'
'We do not like them'
'Treat them differently from the way we treat ourselves'
Sensitivity training and things like 'black history month' is an effort at removing the first two so that the last three never happen. Doesn't strike me as that insiduous an attempt or goal.
They are human, we are human, we are alike, let's act accordingly.

Um no quote unquote they are not like us.
That's the issue.
It will never happen (and prolly shouldn't) but if I was supreme leader I'd loosen the rules for the death penalty.
Kill a Cop Fry
Previous felony and commit armed robbery Fry
Kill a Kid Fry
Rape a child then commit any violent crime Fry
Second rape conviction Fry
Kill someone while driving drunk with previous drunk driving convictions Fry
and too many other to mention
and by fry I mean FRY!!!
you get 364 days from the moment the sentence is handed down to whine on appeal then it's down the green mile and you get put to sleep no ifs ands or buts.
Good Lord how many would we be killin’ per year with those rules???
one of two things would happen the rate of repeat offenders would drop to zero
or folks would stop doin’ this shiznat Ya think?!?

oh and about Bish’s Nun’s very smart comments. Isn’t the crime greater
to tell me I can not dislike someone than to actually discriminate on one’s
own reasonable determination that you don’t want to be forced to like
someone based on WHATEVER criteria you choose???
