Still the fact goes unaddressed: OBAMA and BIDEN voted to send the money to Alaska to build the bridge in the first place. Even when they could've sent it to rebuild Louisiana, the dynamic duo still voted it to go to Alaska. Could it be because Obama and Biden are pork-barrel buffoons?? Hmmmm?

At the moment the Obama campaign is playing a dangerous game of gotcha, since the record shows both Obama and Biden to be solidly behind the most visible symbol of wasteful spending in Washington.

So the facts are plain. When it mattered, Gov. Palin stood up to Sen. Stevens and dealt the Bridge to Nowhere its death blow. This is something the U.S. Congress and senators Obama and Biden failed to do on multiple occasions.

And while it’s true that John McCain, unlike his running mate, has always opposed pork-barrel earmarks, Sarah Palin, unlike Obama and Biden, did the right thing when it counted most and stopped an egregious example of earmark abuse. And now, of course, Palin has joined McCain in calling for an end to earmarks.

State Abandons Ketchikan 'bridge to nowhere' Published: September 21, 2007

JUNEAU -- The state of Alaska on Friday officially abandoned the controversial "bridge to nowhere" project in Ketchikan that became a symbol of federal pork-barrel spending.

The $398 million bridge would have connected Ketchikan to its airport on a nearby island.

"Ketchikan desires a better way to reach the airport, but the $398 million bridge is not the answer," Gov. Sarah Palin said in a prepared statement.

there are numerous rumblings about cronyism and nepotism within her alaska regime. maybe they're true. maybe not. but given the volume of such stories, are we confident there's nothing there? are we confident that there's nothing there in light of all the other various accusations that point to some level of dishonesty? the preponderance of evidence suggests there is something there, despite whatever internet shitnews postings peel can scrounge up to defend his hooters waitress vp candidate with.
