Glad to see your back up and running Les,wonder how Nixy is fairing?I was watching the Canadian news and there was a lady complaining that her "electric stove "wasn't working so she couldn't cook and she wasn't going to be able to shower,I thought BBQ and swimming pool/lake,glad to see you improvised as well Les. I've gone camping for over a week and managed to survive with sponge baths and cooking over an open fire.I'm just glad this didn't happen during the Winter ,it would have beeen a whole different story. :crying4:

some people are just idiots :retard:

we all had it set up around here figuring we could make it for a week if we pitched together without having to buy anything...we were plotting on pooling bottles of water, batteries, digging holes to keep food in, the whole 9 yards. We were ready, it was almost disappointing to see the power back on :lol2:

Winter would have sucked though...I still feel for the people who had to live through that with kids :eh:

I haven't read this whole thread but I JUST got power for the FIRST time since 4:12 yesterday afternoon. JUST over 24 hours! OI!

I made coffee for my mom and instant mashed potatoes for myself on a coleman camp stove. Last night we spent $10 of our $15 cash on Pizza from Pizza Pizza (they use propane for their stoves) without realizing bank machines weren't working :retard: we survived though!

Glad you're back Nix. Everyone OK?

Side Note, I was reading about this on MSNBC last night and they had a nice little page set up. What to do if you are Caught in the Blackout. I thought for a minute, "How nice of them." Then I thought, "to put something like this up on the fucking Internet." I'm sure that's what everyone was scrambling for batteries for, so they could check thier Email and see if MSNBC had posted what to do yet. Fucking morons.

Everyone is OK

I gotta call Mr Chris soon. He went rollerblading downtown last night, wanted to drive an dget me and take me downtown cause it was beautiful but it was 11pm and I had to get up early incase there was work (there wasn't). :(

That is fucking hilarious. Not even reading it. Just the fact that we need a cable network to put together a list for people. 99.9% of our existance as humans has been without electricity. Hell, AC wasn't invented until the 40s.

:rofl3:

Hope you were using it outside,I remember as a kid my parents used a Hibatchi indoors to cook during a power outage, damn near killed the works of us. This may however explain alot about my behaviour :lloyd:

"Have you ever seen the United States take the blame for anything?" fumed
Toronto Mayor Mel Lastman after Canadian and U.S. officials blamed problems
in each other's country for the massive loss of electrical power that was
the worst in U.S. history.

Heard this on the news last night. Thought it was hilarious.
