Her new title fits so well. Think she'll like it?

"We are going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good." 06/29/04

"It's time for a new beginning, for an end to government of the few, by the few, for the few, and to replace it with shared responsibility for shared prosperity." 05/29/07

"We can't just let business as usual go on, and that means something has to be taken away from some people." 06/04/07

"We have to build a political consensus and that requires people to give up a little bit of their own turf in order to create this common ground." 06/04/07

"I certainly think the free market has failed." 06/04/07

"I think it's time to send a clear message to what has become the most profitable sector in the entire economy, that they are being watched." 09/02/05

"What I want to do is take those profits and apply them to alternative energy." 09/02/05

Perhaps we can call her Mrs Marx.

It actually would please me if she really did say those things since there is a roughly 90% chance that a politician will do the exact opposite of what they promise.

read my lips...

Different sheepskin, same old wolf, if you ask me.

Isn't the rule here that you have to post a source when you're quoting?

Wouldn't want people to think that you were just pulling crap out of context would you?

Typical really, but don't ya just love it that it's ok to pull it all out of context to make it say what they want it to, when it's a Clinton, but when Bush is just too plain stupid not to say idiotic things in speeches, and our side finds it disturbingly humorous, then it's because Bushy is just not a good public speaker, or there is always some excuse for him? That old double standard is still alive and well!

Personally I think Bushisms are one of the many evidences that Cheney is, and has been the president since 2000, and Bush was the means by which the right made a Cheney presidency paletable to the general public. I am not one who believes that Bush is a complete moron, but certainly he's never been smart enough to do all the damage his admisnistration has done without samrter med doing his thinking for him.

Really?

I may have to vote for her when the time comes. If I do, it'd be for a reason none of you have bothered to look into.

(Remember that PM from a few months ago Cat? Might be time to unleash the info soon...)

I probably will show up.. because I know how unhappy it makes us all... which as true cynics would probably makes us happy. Damn paradoxes.

Damned straight!

Actually unc, I'm kind of a cynical optimist. No wonder I'm so fucked up. ;)

Do you know why a cynical woman does that? Because if she doesn't then everyone will show up and comment on the lousy food and dirty bathrooms.

^^^^ ugh, domestic issues! :crap:

anywhoo . . .

Snopes states "~"

IMHO Snopes is giving her the benifit. In structure, context and audience considered. I would say they are more accurate then less.

. . . but I suppose that would depend on what your definition of the word "is" is. (that infamous statement is like swallowing a pine-cone)
