Yes, exactly like that. The south used to be overwhelmingly Democrat. But granting blacks civil rights was too much for them and the bigots swung over to the Republican side after that.
Probably has something to do with who now stands in the way of civil rights for gays.
I'm saying you can't allow one to marry and not the other. It's either denying rights or granting special privileges. Bigotry based on sezual orientation.
No you want to destroy someone elses rite. You can have civil unions which off the same technicals for tax purposes.I like freedom. I want consenting adult couples to be free to marry each other. It's the anti-freedom people with their bigotry goo that want the state to prevent that.
Jim, its not the facts that matter. It the ideology that the democrats ended slavery and voted for civil rights and elected the first black president, President Clinton.Al Gore Sr., Robert Byrd, and Lyndon Johnson all became Republicans?

You've made it quite clear, you hate christian terrorist.
I'm afraid that civil unions are being disallowed as well. This is not about terminology..it's about equal access to services.
WE can't go back in time and change it all, you see there's this concept called social evolution. As it evolved the government adopted the rite as marriage as the standard. This isn't about the rite...nobody's forcing churches to marry SSCouples.
If you think the majority of the South went to war, during the 'civil war',
because on the 'freeing the slaves' part, you have been misinform.
ftfyif you look at just this itty-biity instance and ignore the rest, I'm right
Civil unions seems to be a dandy answer that doesn't destroy an institution that survived the societal evolution for many thousands of years.

Blacks have the exact same rights.Social evolution needs to allow straight or gay couples and not allow for bigotry based on sexual orientation. "Separate but equal" seemed like a dandy answer to many when blacks were fighting for their civil rights. It wasn't tho'.
