OTC BBQ!!!

Now now, no fights for beds. Everyone will have a place to sleep. And there is a door to where the futon is. It's a basement, but it has a door. You'll all be very comfortable.

Now, what's this about pizza???? We'll all go grocery shopping for the weekend together. I'm looking forward to this. Of course, all those coming to my place, BYOB and pot luck is also appreciated.

rob makes great pizza. i make great pizza (hell...i managed my own restaurant before i had kids) so together we make a kick booty pie. nixy feels that she just can't live without the experience and i don't think she should have to. so we will help cater this little soiree. besides...it's the least we can do for your hospitality :D

just for you nix!
and we already have dibs! you get the no door having futon! :p

Oh yes I know!

I was gonna have dibs on the bedroom with the single bed...but we are used to sharing a Queen so I think a single will end up with one or both of us on the floor...so I am changing my dibs to the futon :D Not trying to steal your bed silly lady :brush:

Paul told me it has no door! That is why I said I wanted the single originally...I have issues with people seeing me sleep...I am weird like that...

I guess Pauly doesn't know what he's talkin' about though :D

Tonksy, of course any help is appreciated, but it's not something I want you worrying about too much. Paul offered to host so he can do plenty of work too.

Nix, Paul is weird like that. If his head wasn't attached to his shoulders, I think he would forget it at times. There is a door, but we usually leave it open due to the cats litter being down in the laundry room. That can be moved for the weekend so that they don't bother you.

Otherwise, I can't wait to see everyone!!!

We need to start negotiating what types of pie I am going to make.

What is the 'style' up there?
Thinner crust or thicker crust?
Red sauce, white sauce, no sauce?
Toppings? Your pepperoni is certainly not our pepperoni. What you would call circular bacon we would call Canadian bacon... Olives? onions? peppers? tomatoes? beef? ...venison?
Cheese? Straight Mozarella... slight cheddar blend ...kaseri accents? Thickly applied or merely thin?
Shall we just make poutinezza?

What is generally available, what is considered to be inexpensive and common and what is dear and hard to obtain?

What is commonly used in Canada that we might not use down south?

Cooking utensils... measuring cups metric or quarts? Lots of tall bowls to rise dough in?

Oh my lord!!!! We use just about anything on our pizzas that we want. It all depends on the preference of the person. Crust is thin or thick, the amount of stuff put on the pizza is up to the person making it usually, or again, the preference of the person. Most things aren't difficult to obtain here, unless it's something completely out of the ordinary. Bowls, not to worry about bowls. After all I love to cook and bake so I have stuff! Anything specific you need, I'll pm you our number.

Also keep in mind that Bish's wife person doesn't know about OTC :D

Oh...she knows that it exists, and that I have posted to it before...but considers the internet a hopeless waste of time better spent doing other things...like working. She just doesn't know how much time I spend on here :D

Can't do it. I'm NOT driving that far with a 3 YO, and I can't leave at that time.

Negotiations are in progress for possibly hosting next year, however.

That's the weekend before School starts, Bish. 10 hours on the bus the day before the first day of school for all four of us would be hellish and I just don't find it feasible.

You wait, you'll know one day.

I'm already feeling it. I get to pack JAG into a car right after work and drive (just me and him) to Petawawa..which is normally a 4hour drive, but will end up being a 5 - 5 1/2 hour drive before its over. Then...I have to deal with 2 nights (without the benefit of breastfeeding), two days and a trip back. :shiver:

Sorry that you won't be able to make it Leslie... :sadhug: I'll try to pick a better date next time. There's always next year.

I would so be there next year. It's a tad bit closer and I'd be happy to help out with whatever I can.

That would be eaiser for me too. I have friends in Atlanta that I could stay with. :D

Erik has a friend in Canada, but I dunno where. Maybe we can work something out. :D

Properly arranged, I can sleep 3 couples in beds and 2 singles on couches, and any imaginible number in sleeping bags.

I can host a few people as well, and the yard is pretty well set for that sort of thing. I just need to get it straight with the boss.
