This argument is ridiculous. Remember inter-racial marriage used to be illegal. They weren't racist, they just didn't want the definition of marriage to change. They would have been happy if interracial couples got the rights of other couples, but their unions should have been called something other than marriage. They already had equal rights - the right to marry someone of their own racial background - they wanted special rights.
