When I lived in Tucson I used to go to Mexico reasonably frequently so I know that isn't an exaggeration. The part I never got is traffic lights. Evidently most Mexican drivers consider them a suggestion?Luis G said:2 lane straight roads are really dangerous. Gato_Solo said:Why?...that's only around 120 mph.

I've seen trucks fly by me, but the double trailers tend to sway in the lanes a bit here when its breezy at 70, much less 120.Gato_Solo said:Like anything going that slow would pass you, speedy.
Nah, most truckers (and me) consider speed limits to be a joke.Gonz said:much like truckers & speed limits
Every time I go to Fresno, I drive through Stratford, CA, where there's a cow yard right by the highway. One thing that makes me appreciate the Neon over the Honda is that the Neon has "recirculate" as an option on the ventilation system.Mirlyn said:Oh, and 54 takes you through Liberal and Dodge City. They both are homes to gigantic feedlots for the meat packing industry. They both smell of cowshit nearly 24/7/365.
Yeah I agree. I was thinking about it...HomeLAN said:I'd be willing to take the Dodge - God knows it's built for it. Even with someone to potentially share the drive, though, I'm thinking 2 day trip each way. Why kill yourself?

not for me, nope.Mirlyn said:This is true....
Would mid- to late-June work?
I'm about a quarter mile from the highway. I'm sure I could find a spot for your rig if you wanted to stop by.Gonz said:everybody does realize they're making initial plans to go to KANSAS right
That can't be Kansas, I see hills. Or maybe it's just the piles of cowshit....Mirlyn said:Here: http://www.atd.ucar.edu/rtf/projects/ihop_2002/photos/spol/touring/pano/dodge_feedlot.html
sorry les...
Perhaps you dont understand..... This isn't a cow yard. These are feed lots. This isn't just a field. We're talking miles....the world's largest meat packing plant (IBP) is on 54. I think the cows even have their own truck stops....
I think this is the one in Stratford... http://www.wvmcattle.com/Auction/lot_detail.cfm?Action=Detail&Lot_ID=25961&Hdr=VideoMirlyn said:Here: http://www.atd.ucar.edu/rtf/projects/ihop_2002/photos/spol/touring/pano/dodge_feedlot.html
