10-year-old girl accused of attacking teacher

A 10-year-old girl was taken to Wood Youth Center on Wednesday after she attacked a teacher, police said.

The girl threw a pencil at students in a class at Southwick Elementary School at 6500 Wayne Trace on Tuesday morning - the second time she had misbehaved that morning, a Fort Wayne police report said.

When the teacher approached the girl, she lunged toward the teacher, beating the teacher's shoulders and chest with closed fists, the report said.

When the teacher tried to get closer to the student, the girl kicked her leg several times, the report said.

Three adults restrained the girl before police took her to Wood Youth Center in handcuffs, the report said.

I don't remember being able to vote on whether to take paddings
out of school, or not.
I've voice my opinion that it needs to be there (in a certain capacity)
or crap just like this, and worse, would be happening.
Now there's no turning it back.

Personally...I'd rather find out why this girl lashed out physically, and not verbally. What's going on at her place?

my guess is she's eating tons of sugary foods and is watching too much brain numbing television... you know, the typical American schoolchild... :shrug:

hehe......good old corporal punishment :) we used to call The Stick "The Cane"......nice thin piece of bamboo, hurt like buggery.

When I was thirteen I was given the cane six times for various acts of being a typical teen....the seventh time I let the teacher hit me once, then I took the cane off him and threatened him with it......fuck it, I might have been only a kid but it'd be a cold day in hell before someone was going to get away scott-free with an act of physical violence to me :shrug: Got in a real shitload of trouble for that, but they never tried to cane me again.

The next year corporal punishment was banned anyway......so all's good :D

As for this ten year old....who knows, as long as the Boomtown Rats don't see a reason to re-release the song "I don't like Monday's" it's only kids stuff innit? or, more than likely, fucking useless teachers :shrug:
 
thats the biggest croc of shit I have heard but people do honestly believe that. I too would like to know why. even if she has a mental imbalance or something.

As Gonz said, that is very close to the truth, but it's not just prayer, it's morals. You don't even dare to try to teach a kid morals anymore in school for fear the parents will sue you becuase it doesn't follow their morals. We need to give some power back to the teachers, not necessarily the power to beat our children, but the power to teach them at least, and to hold them accountable for their actions, both physical and academic.
 
read my earlier post. its one of the biggest crocs of shit I have heard. Even if we put prayer back in what do you think will change? the eye roll was actually aimed at Gonz. I agree with PT but morals and values are taught in schools and from parents. sadly that does not seem to happen as much at all. if ever. and I find that distubing

How many of these problems happened when we had prayer in school? No, it's not prayer, specifically, it's the attitude of all the parties involved. Parents did their job & allowed teachers to do theirs. Children knew not to act this way.
 
that I will agree with but prayer has nothing at all to do wiht that. lets say they took it out but parents did what they were supposed to. think it would still be happening?
