The Hannity Palin interview

She won't need him.

It's kinda funny how a couple of people on here keep reminding the rest of us that they aren't on (pick a side) but they sure as hell sound exactly like a democrat talking point memo....day after day after day after day after day after day after day after day....too much mainstream newsprint poisoning the blood ya think?

no, gonz. there is a difference between being uncomfortable with a particular candidate or two and "choosing sides."

i wonder, how many conservatives with real, functioning brains are utterly embarrassed by both dubya and palin. my bet says there's a lot of 'em.

Are you simply unaware of the difference between sedition and seccession or are you just being an antagonist?
Somehow, I believe that he knows the difference between the two. It's closer to sedition than secession. If he wanted to seceed, moving to Canada would worked...that he wanted to take the whole state of Alaska with him, and worked towards that end...sedition.

That he wanted to do this to his wife's chosen GVT - priceless.

All hail our own college educated pHD. He's smarter than all of us. We should listen to him & give thanks for his blessings. :anon:

Yes, it is.

Perhaps you could say something constuctive instead of belittling & you'll get better responses. Until then, you are just being a snobbish bore.

belittling whom? an unqualified candidate for VP?

dude you've spent half your life belittling politicians you don't agree with and doing all kinds of wacky ideological grandstanding.

mind your own, girlfriend.

Not so.

A secessionist is not necessarily a seditionist.

Secession can be done non-violently. Sedition usually reqiures the letting of blood and violent overthrow to accomplish the end means.

The group http://akip.org/ that Todd palin belonged to was not hell bent on the violent overthrow of the government. They wanted to vote themselves out of the Union. Big damned difference.

That little part about returning to Constitutional principals should be a clue.

The AKIP platform. Maybe you should read it. While you're at it, tell me what is wrong with it.

You want to attack her political ideology. okay.

You want to go after her policies....makes sense.

Making childish, snide remarks , repeatedly, serves no one.

Q: What is the Alaskan Independence Party?
A: An Alaskan political party whose members advocate a range of solutions to the conflicts between federal and local authority; from advocacy for state's rights, through a return to territorial status, all the way to complete independence and nationhood status for Alaska.

Sedition does not necessitate violence. It's intent, not method, that makes it sedition.

"If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both."

Are you agreeing or disagreeing with me?

From your own quote:

"If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both."

They are NOT inciting rebellion or the overthrow of the government. They desire to VOTE themselves out of the Union and become a separate state again. There are no calls to arms. There are no assassinations. There are no armed marches in the streets.

All they want is a VOTE to return to independence and a return to CONSTITUTIONAL rule under the tenets of the United States and Alaskan Constitutions. Remember that part in the First Amendment about "petition the government for redress of grievances"? That includes the vote.

Did you read their preamble?

Preamble

We affirm that all political power is inherent in the people; that all government originates with the people, is founded on their will only, is instituted to protect the rights of the individual; that all persons have a natural right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and the enjoyment of the rewards of their own industry; that all persons are equal and entitled to equal protection under the law. We stand on a firm constitutional foundation.

Did you read ANY of the planks of their platform?

The very first plank reads:

Platform

We pledge to exert our best efforts to accomplish the following:

1. To effect full compliance with the constitutions of the United States of America and the State of Alaska.

There is no sedition, insurrection, rebellion, or treason here. What is there is people attempting to lawfully and constitutionally exercise their rights under existing law.
