Heck just this week a bunch of our multi-million dollar
NBA bastketball players stomped up into the stands
and kicked the stuffing out of fans that were being unruly.
I think the players were Black lol Oh the Irony!

The actual Spanish manager "declines to comment" I say no comment in this situation is tantermount to condoning the behaviour!

Besides don't you people have a history of killing each other at these 'football' games isn't this the type of event that has resulted in riots and deaths?

Hey we did have a recent rap awards show (Jibe) end up in a free for all between the artists and the people in the audience one guy was stabbed!

We tend not to trivialise issues over here Winky...

We have made valiant efforts to stamp out racism within football.

There is a "hooligan element" within the game and some not all are race related... most are due to team rivalry...

I think the deaths you may remember were probably the "hillsborough disaster" which was as the name suggest a "disaster" ...In an all standing ground (now all are seated!) too many fans were let into an enclosure after a goal they surged forward literally squashing hundreds to death against the barriers surrounding the stands. I was very young at the time... the images (the game was televised) were horrendous... they had to utilise the billboards to carry the dead and wounded out of the ground.

Or perhaps an incident last year or the year before (I forget)... when a Turk stabbed an England supporter to death after a recent flair up over another Brit urinating on a war memorial... :shrug:

Most of the violence isn't race related but down to team differences.

Tsk, tsk, Winky...Your lack of insight is a little disturbing. One basketball player went into the stands because an unruly fan threw a drink at him. Once he went into the stands, other fans in the area decided to voice their opinions physically as well. This resulted in the bench being cleared. Perhaps if you watched the whole film, instead of the poor, innocent fan :rolleyes: being given a drubbing, you wouldn't be so smug. I don't condone that violence any more than the next person, but don't try to place all the blame on the basketball team, and don't try to puff up your obviously slanted opinion by adding links to other sites which are just as inflammatory.
 
All that is certainly true, Gato, but "he threw his drink at me" or even "he threw his drink at me and called me names" is a reason to fight when you're eight, not when you're an adult. The fan was a drunken idiot (and should certainly be charged with drunk and disorderly if notheing else), Artest (and the other players that went after fans) was presumably sober and should have known better. Just my opinion.

I'm not trying to justify the behavior of either side...I'm just showing Winky the hypocrisy of his post. :shrug: He even threw something else up there that had nothing to do with the NBA. My guess is he has some kind of agenda he hasn't yet revealed...

Basically Claire comes on and says that they Spanish fans were singing racist songs during most of the game and he defends it???

Looking for a fight if I ever saw it.....

I exercise the option of staying out of the RW as much as possible.....it'd only get me on trouble if I posted in here often :D
