Unbelievable! 2004 Racism... surely not!

I've heard that one since I was a kid. More often referring to someone in the third person though. (He's/she's practically engaged to so and so). Slang, and not really what it means, but it was a common expression where I grew up. Funny how different expressions you think are universal aren't, huh?

*I've also seen more than one guy bolt right after it was said (including myself).*

Me, too. I wonder if this is just an Eastern thing...

As for bolting? I've never done it. I'm usually the one who's a hard to pin down.

I think you misunderstood? She said it, I bolted. Perhaps not my finest moment. Maybe I misunerstand your response?

Ahhhh.. the joys of the written text!

Misunderstandings seem to be the order of the dy on the majority of my threads including this one! :swing:

Never said it was a bad thing...just that I'd never done it...;)...Sometimes that 'fight-or-flight' response is best served by the flight...Nothing to besmirch your character, just an idle thought...

BoP gets it.

Let me explain further.

Either you is or you ain't.

And like I said... I understand that pregancy is an "is or ain't" situation but in my area to be "a little bit pregnant" its a kinda cutsie term for the being well before completion of the first trimester...

Hense my misunderstanding.

Fans, you can't control... but players you can... racism shouldn't be tollerated by the players, and I wouldn't have any problem with the players walking off the field, or officials stopping the game. Fans take their cues from players, and if the fans see that their favorite players are offended by such behavior, they're going to be less likely to behave that way again.

I completely agree with this...
Fifa will also consider pleas for match officials to abandon matches where there is racial abuse.

Sports minister Richard Caborn said: "Fifa and Uefa have toconsider what to do about this.

"Perhaps the fourth official should have the power to speak to the people running the match and order them to issue a warning over the public address system.

"It would in effect be a yellow card and if the abuse continues then the officials should take the players off and abandon the match."

IMO, those of you who are taking this lightly aren't really considering the consequences of a large, drunk, hostile mob of worked up people when their team loses, or wins.
