When a cop says STOP!!

The girl got precisely what she deserved. I hope her parents wore her out later as well. I can't believe you're calling the cop supid, prof. He did exactly what procedure dictates.

I never called him stupid. I said that having to pepper spray a 12 year old girl was. Are you gonna tell me that a 22 year vetran cop has no other options? These guys take tons of training to learn to handle this sort of thing. And THIS was the result?

She put her hand out and struck away the weapon he was holding. That's stupid.

That he couldn't just step in front of her and stop her. That's stupid.

And procedures? When someone tells me that they followed procedures, I hear, "I didn't think for myself".

Actually freako, 134 lbs is fairly stout for a 12 year old. You just can't let these kids even start thinking that the police has no control over them. You let a 12 year old think that, you are creating a criminal for life.

Wasn't for jaywalking, it was for failure to comply.

true but he went on her jaywalking thats why i posted as i did she didnt comply i did mention that

In some cities it is completely forbiden to cross the highways/freeways, unless you use a bridge. They even put fences in the middle of "lane groups".

Ohh, and if someone tries to "jaywalk" and get killed, his fault. It turns pretty messy too, picture a constant flow of cars at 90km/h separated about 2-3m from each other, most of them won't even try to brake if they see you in there, wise decision if you ask me.

I'll have to clear that with the missus first.

There's a difference between calling a person stupid, and calling an action stupid. A relatively intelligent person can do something stupid. As well, a total moron can sometimes do something smart. One doesn't preclude the other.

In this case, someone did something stupid. My opinion of the intelligence of that person remains unstated.

Ah, I see what you're getting at. Sorry for the confusion. The two lines aren't meant to refer to each other. That's why I put extra spacing between them.

Sorry, I'm not buying that at all. You directly attacked the officer's intelligence when calling into question his IQ. And you didn't refer to an act as "stupid" but instead used the word "stupidity" which refers to a person, not an act.

Perhaps you didn't mean to call him stupid, but you sure as hell did.

maybe you should pepper spray him for inappropriate use of grammar, osli

the things people can discuss...man!

only in america....

I tell ya, let them learn the hard way, a couple of dead guys and the problem is solved.

Highways and freeways are meant to be used by cars, if you want to walk, do it in the sidewalk.

Hell, Shadowfax, we'll argue about anything. Up to and including the color of Julia Roberts' pubic hair.

If it was just misuse of grammar, it would be no big deal. The fact is that prof knew exactly what he was saying, and was very clear when he said it. He then tried to back out of those statements claiming I misunderstood him. Roll your eyes at someone else. ;)
